25.01.2022 Att all spectators BHSC are required to keep an attendance record of all visitors to our grounds who stay longer than fifteen minutes. There will be several points around the ground where you can scan a QR code with your phone and it will take you to a link to fill in your personal details for us to keep for contact tracing. You can find the QR App in your App Store if you dont already have it. Players and coaching staff are not required to do this as they will still have t...o sign in manually with their team managers. Please remember the advice is to stay in your car if you can or only have one family member on the ground. As of midnight this Sunday Vic Gov has announced that all people are to wear masks in public. So please be prepared when you come to the Village Park. Thanks again for your continued cooperation and a special big thanks to our volunteers who keep us going through these trying times. See more

23.01.2022 Below is the link to a new podcast our senior star midfielder Anthony Cooley has put together. The podcast revolves around those difficult conversations that are quite often spoken in whispers. In episode 3 Anto talks to our very own senior head coach and local school teacher Scott Fraser, who has a very candid and thought provoking chat about mental health, school teaching and living abroad and the anxiety of leaving family and friends behind. https://open.spotify.com/episode/51g8N5VFpzJpK64I0VxgjY
23.01.2022 Congrats to Western United FC and all the crew for their great win tonight against Brisbane. Special thanks to Pete Bradley @ WUFC for his support of BHSC and all the GRFC. Good luck against City next week.
21.01.2022 Barwon Heads U18 girls scored a win on their first match of the season yesterday! Despite many setbacks for the 2020 season (recruiting new players, two competitions folding, players stuck in Melbourne and covid-19) the girls had an awesome first game against Lara FC. Thanks to Bendigo Bank for our new women fit tops, the team looked great while beating our opponents. We were all really excited to get back onto the pitch, playing a game we love. Big thanks to the BHSC committee for working really hard to get a team and season for us, and our fantastic new coach Grace! Round of applause to the U12 and U14 girls who stepped up and filled in for us! We couldnt have done it without all the amazing support from everyone~
21.01.2022 Come down to the village and support the U18s girls today @ 1:30! This is our first game for a new league! Thanks to Jordan and Minty for helping us out with numbers.

20.01.2022 Unfortunately it has been announced that Football Victoria CEO Peter Filopoulos has decided to jump ship in the middle of this crisis. With the long anticipated registration refunds policy yet to be released we share in your frustration knowing that his departure will only add to the delay of refunds. We profusely apologise for this but it is largely out of our hands. When registrations are paid the money goes directly to the FV and then they pass on our portion which is ro...ughly half. The club aims to fully refund our portion to any player who did not take the field this season and for everyone else we will refund pro rata based on the number of games played. We have looked at the option of refunding you directly now, but without knowing if the FV are about to do the same, things could get very messy very quickly for our admin volunteers. We are desperate to seek a solution so please continue to be patient. Please take into account the club still has many overheads and bills to pay with very little revenue coming in. If you are experiencing financial hardship please contact me directly and we will absolutely find you a solution. [email protected] To all our players, supporters and families your understanding and support through these difficult times has been overwhelming and we cant thank you enough. Please stay tuned for further announcements from FV on refunds and whether the season may continue. Take care and stay safe from all the committee. See more

16.01.2022 NEWS: SOCCER SCENE Interview with Football Victoria CEO Peter Filopoulos... SPEAKING with Soccerscene, Football Victoria CEO Peter Filopoulos claims the current... period presents the game with challenges but also opportunities for the future. This is the biggest disruption thats faced sport, not just football. In my time of 30 years in sports administration, Ive never seen anything like it before," he said. But I also see this crisis as an opportunity for football to position itself at the backend of this. To be able to build a platform for us to change the way we do business and the way we do things, thats what Im looking forward to. To read the full interview, click on the below link:
16.01.2022 A beautiful day to watch some soccer and support our boys. Kick off at Village Park today for U15 Boys at 1130am. Remember to socially distance and stay safe.

15.01.2022 JUNIORS BACK TO TRAINING As we get ready to return to training its important that every parent and child reads and understands the guidelines set out by Football Victoria. This document can be found in our news feed on team app. The most important reminder is that if you have cold or flu like symptoms please do not attend training or matches.... We have put together Covid Packs for each team and will be given to coaches/managers at training. In the packs are hand sanitiser, ball wipes, disposable gloves and the Covid guide. Its important that all players hand sanitise before and after training, wipe soccer balls at the end of each session and not share drink bottles. You will also have your name ticked off an attendance record and this is a crucial step in contact tracing. Parents are reminded not to mingle and drop off is at the pony club end and pick up at the Geelong Rd end of Village Park. Kits, match balls and photo ids will also be handed out this week as will match books for those who require them. We cant wait to see everybody training again fingers crossed it lasts. Just a reminder the clubrooms will be closed for the foreseeable future and assume all other clubrooms will be closed as well. A special big thanks to Silke & the team at RT Edgar for helping with the Covid training packs.
15.01.2022 Please follow the link below for the latest update on the return to training guide from Football Victoria. All participants must read and understand this document. There is one for juniors and one for seniors. https://ffv.us9.list-manage.com/track/click
15.01.2022 BHSC Extraordinary General meeting Wednesday 17th June. Hi all, The BHSC committee is meeting tomorrow night to see if we can find a pathway to getting our season going. Thanks for your continued understanding. Please bear in mind that not all clubs have the same resources to deal with these unprecedented times. Our volunteers are under an enormous amount of pressure and your patience is greatly appreciated. ... The outcomes of this meeting will be posted Thursday morning. Regards BHSC committee.
14.01.2022 Great to hear our very own senior player Anthony (Anto) Cooley on Geelong Regional Soccer News last night. If you havent caught up with Antos podcast yet check out the link below. Episode 2 has a very candid and fascinating chat with our senior mens coach Scott Fraser that shouldnt be missed. https://open.spotify.com/show/0dDOInlhTio7N59s3nvcTX
13.01.2022 Refunds for deregistered players For those players who would like to deregister to either play somewhere else or for personal reason we fully understand and wish you well. If you could please email our registrar Skye Glover at [email protected] with the players name, age and bank details, we will deregister and process the refund in a timely matter. ... Football Victoria can not guarantee clubs full reimbursement of the FV component of registration costs (which is roughly half) if the clubs decide to pay back their members full rego fees directly. BHSC have decided to cover these cost for our members regardless as to speed up the refund process. With that in mind we ask those Mini Roos players, (U/7 & U/9) who do not have a competition but will be doing the training program this season, not to deregister as there will be a small insurance and admin costs for running this program and the costs are yet to be determined. We are still working with the Play Football and the FV to set up this program and full details will be released shortly. There is still no clarity from FV on the potential for registration discounts as yet. If and when these become clear our most preferred option would be to roll these discounts over into next year for those who have already paid. Of course we will look at case by case situations for anyone who has trouble paying registration or would like to discuss other options. We are still working on a policy for refunds in the event the season is canceled. Again there will be an option for those who have already registered to roll that over into next year. We currently still plan to give a free training top to those who registered early. We have ultimately been waiting for the season to start proper as this incentive relied on registrations and if they are to be returned it will create chaos. Thank you once again for your continued understanding and patience, our volunteers are working overtime.
13.01.2022 To all players You need navy shorts and orange socks. These can be purchased through www.ultrafootball.com.au online delivered and the club gets a kick back of 10% from the purchase you make. ... Also Ultra Football has given us a discount code for purchases. Receive a $30 discount when spending $60 or more. The discount code is: BarwonheadsSC.2020
12.01.2022 School closures due to Covid With the recent school closures due to possible Covid outbreaks, for everyones safety the club asks, if you or your child attend one of these schools please do not participate in training or games until the school is cleared and contact tracing is complete. Please notify your coach/manager immediately if you can not train. With the possibility of more closures in the future please use common sense if your work, school or a place you frequent is closed, please contact the club prior to attending. Thanks for your patience, BHSC
12.01.2022 BHSC REFUND POLICY * 100% refunds for all seniors, mini roos and little kickers no games played * 75% refunds for all juniors some games played * donation option... We have finally received communications from Football Victoria regarding players refunds. Disappointingly FV will only refund 50% of their portion of the registration fee. We understand there are enormous costs for FV to set up a season but for our Mini Roos and Seniors who did not take to the field at all this season we think this is a bit harsh. In good faith, BHSC have decided to refund 100% of our registration portion back to those who did not play a game (little kickers, mini roos & seniors) and 75% back to juniors who managed to play about four games, roughly a quarter of a season. We hope this gesture keeps our members positive and keen to return next season. We wish we could do more but we still have the responsibility of keeping the club in a stable financial position going forward. We inherited many costs in preparing for this season e.g. equipment and kit purchases, referee fees, utility bills and also Covid safe equipment. The FV will transfer all the refunds to the club and then we will transfer into your accounts along with our portion. HOW TO ORGANISE THE REFUND: Email at [email protected] with player/s name, their team and your bank details We will transfer in a timely manner once FV have paid BHSC the 50% Unfortunately there is no option to role the fees over into next year. We have had a few people asking if they could donate the remainder back to the club. This is a very generous offer and we imagine in the current circumstances this is difficult to consider for some. If you would like to donate, we ask you simply add a little note at the end of your email specifying how much you would like to give back. Much appreciated. Please be patient with our volunteers processing all these payments as there is over 200. We certainly didn’t get the season we hoped for but we were lucky to be isolated in such a beautiful part of the world. Congrats to all those players who stuck out their training and to those who were lucky enough to play a few games. From all the BHSC team we would dearly love to see you all back safe and well next year. Bye for now. Football Victoria refund policy link. https://ffv.us9.list-manage.com/track/click

09.01.2022 Refunds & Training Tops Thank you for all the responses we have received regarding refunds and donations. We understand this year has been difficult and appreciate your support. In terms of refunds, they will be processed in the coming days. We apologise for the delay but we are waiting on FV to notify us of their confirmed refund amounts.... To those that have made donations to the club, many thanks for your very generous assistance. 08.01.2022 BENDIGO BANK COMMUNITY GRANT Barwon Heads Soccer Club is very excited to anounce our successful grant application from the Barwon Heads Bendigo Bank Community Branch. The grant is to support female participation, promote healthy choices, encourage volunteer support and promote soccer to young people for the 2020 season, and as our major sponsor we are super proud to have the Bendigo front and centre on all new club kits. We cant underestimate the importance of this grant in ...these uncertain times and are pleased to have some financial certainty. We sincerely thank the Barwon Heads Bendigo Bank board and branch for their support. If you are in the market for a home loan or some insurance packages, talk to the team at the Hitchcock Ave branch as every package purchased will help the soccer club and the community in general. We were lucky enough to have Branch Manager Kevin Hannam join Anita Borschmann, our clubs grants manager, and some of our female superstars down at the Village Park to confirm our successful bid. What a life line! Please stay safe everyone. (Photo L-R) Anita, Emma, Abby, Grace, Queenie, Skye and Kevin.

07.01.2022 This weekend we would have seen 166 kids, 22 coaches and at least 11 referees represent Geelong in the 2020 CLFA Country Championships. Unfortunately the weeken...d has been postponed but thanks to Brian and Emma at Midcity trophies all our junior players with receive a commemorative pin for their efforts in being selected to represent their region. A great little momento which they will hopefully keep and look back on in years to come. Normally these pins would have been distributed at the tournament but due to current circumstances its going it be a little trickier so we appreciate your understanding in trying to organise this. Pins can be collected at the following locations on Saturday June 6th. Surfcoast FC 9am to 9.30am Barwon Heads FC. 10am - 10.40am Barwon SC 11am - 11.40am Geelong Rangers 12pm - 12.40pm If possible please can parents discuss with friends/teammates and get 1 person to pick up multiple pins to avoid lots of people congregating at the venues. An email to all players will also be sent confirming these pick up times. If you cannot make any of these pick ups then please contact [email protected] to arrange an alternative arrangement. Thanks again to Midcity trophies for their great support in arranging and supplying these pins for kids.

06.01.2022 BHSC are set to return to the track in 2020. With restrictions easing we will slowly introduce teams back to training and youth and senior teams back to competitions. The frame work set by Vic Gov, CoGG and Football Victoria is still extremely onerous and many questions are still not answered but our commitment is to get our players back playing soccer again. Volunteers will be a big part of this as will parents and players who will all have to adhere to the strict guideline...s for us to do this safely and successfully. # NO LITTLE KICKERS, Some weekend fun sessions will be established later. # U/7 & U/9 TRAINING ONLY. Training to start Thursday 16.7.20 No competition games. # U/11 & U/12 TRAINING & GAMES Training to start Thursday 16.7.20 Competition games start Saturday 18.7.20 # U/13 NO TEAMS IN 2020 We dont have the numbers to field a team # U/14, U/15, U16 & SENIORS. Training starts as of Monday 22.6.20 Competition games start Saturday 18.7.20 We have advised Football Victoria that we will forfeit all competition games scheduled over the school holidays. Player availability and team readiness make this task almost impossible. We will look to establish some training programs at the Village Park over the holidays for the younger kids. This season will look different and our focus is not so much around competitions but the joy of soccer and the friendships that it brings. Full details to come. From all the team at BHSC stay safe.

IF YOUR YOU OR YOUR CHILD IS SHOWING ANY FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS PLEASE DO NOT COME TO TRAI...NING. *Drop off Zones. 04.01.2022 Football Victoria update.
04.01.2022 Soccer back very soon. Goal posts have gone back in under the watchful eye of U/9s super star Lior OMeara, so soccer is not far away. FV and CoGG have given our club the green light to return to restricted training under the social distancing policy once we complete detailed risk assessments and a return to training guide. The committee are working frantically to interpret these conditions and layout a detailed pathway for players to hopefully return mid next week. Stay tuned for more announcements.
04.01.2022 Stage 3 lockdown for Geelong. As you would have heard as of midnight this Wednesday the 5th we go back into lockdown. This sadly means no community sport for the next six weeks. Football Victoria are yet to make any decisions about the remainder of competition for 2020. We are also expecting FV to release their refunds policy in the coming weeks. Once our committee has had a chance to disseminate these policys we will also make a statement. ... Until then please stay safe and keep active and we hope to see you down at the Village Park soon. See more
