23.01.2022 Agribusiness, manufacturers and freight companies will be given the opportunity to expand thanks to a $16.8 million investment from the NSW Government to establ...ish the Northern NSW Inland Port in Narrabri. Funding will go towards essential infrastructure including water, electricity and communications connections that operators need to relocate close to the Inland Rail Route, grow their customer base, boost revenue and take on new employees. COVID-19 has highlighted the need for on-shoring of supply chains and the development of this precinct will generate local jobs, help to diversify and boost Narrabri’s local economy and support a great quality of life for people living and working in Northern NSW. 20.01.2022 NSW FIRST STATE TO IMPLEMENT NATIONAL AG WORKERS’ CODE Our state’s farmers have received a massive boost ahead of a bumper harvest, with the NSW G...overnment becoming the first jurisdiction to write the new Agricultural Workers’ Code into its public health orders. This will allow the free movement of agricultural workers across state borders, so that our almost $16 billion primary industries sector can make the most of the best seasonal conditions we’ve seen in many years. Yesterday I joined Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Acting Deputy Premier Paul Toole MP to make this important announcement. If we didn’t have this Code, it’s estimated there would be turndown in agricultural production of $2.3 billion over the next 12 months. This means that primary producers can not only continue to feed and clothe the nation, but be the driving force behind the economic recovery from COVID-19. Thank you to my Ministerial colleagues in South Australia and Victoria (Jaclyn Symes) for signing on, and hopefully Queensland will soon pull its head out of the sand and follow suit. COVID safety is still a top priority, so agricultural workers travelling between NSW and Victoria will need a permit and relevant identification, and will be required to use PPE as appropriate. This is a big win for our farmers, but more always needs to be done, and I will continue to fight for them. 19.01.2022 BUDGET A WIN FOR REGIONAL NSW Today’s budget had a clear winner - the communities and people of #regionalnsw With a record breaking $8.7billion in funding fo...r regional roads, $900million to build and upgrade regional hospitals and $650million towards regional schools and education- this budget really does have something for everyone across our regions. Congratulations to John Barilaro and my NSW Nationals colleagues who have worked hard to ensure regional NSW has its fair slice of the pie in this budget. 16.01.2022 #Cobar is a community with a strong history, especially in mining . It was a great honour to be a part of the first sod turn for the new miners memorial which ...will pay a fitting tribute to those who lost their lives in the mines near Cobar. Also whilst in town Adam Marshall MP and I looked at the progress of great community projects like the upgrades to the Heritage Museum and the Health and Fitness Centre, all funded by the NSW Government. Cobar is a unique part of #NSW and I can’t wait to visit again!! Dugald Saunders MP Cobar Shire Council

11.01.2022 Today, former Deputy Prime Minister and rail enthusiast the late Tim Fischer AC, has been honoured with a special commemorative plaque at Albury Station thanks ...to the ABC. Tim was a tireless advocate for rail transport and it is fitting to have him commemorated at the historic station he frequented often. He was a rail man through and through studying railway gauges and after retiring from politics he was the special envoy for the Adelaide to Darwin railway line and travelled on the first Ghan to Darwin in 2004. Albury Station was a special place for Tim in his later years where he hosted a three series local radio podcast 'The Great Train Show'. A statesman and a gentleman, Tim was a true friend to the people of bush and was held in high esteem by people across the political divide. His legacy will continue to benefit regional Australians for generations to come. Now as people sit and wait for a train in Albury, there’s a special reminder of his amazing contribution to the local community. Picture: The Land NSW Nationals

08.01.2022 Great to see Jodi McKay MP teaming up with the SMH’s City Editor to highlight the incredible work we are doing to support communities right across regional NSW.... It’s only the Nationals that will deliver this level of investment to the bush! Disappointing to read that Labor and the Greens want to kill the universally loved Stronger Country Communities Fund and our other regional programs. I’ll be sure to let all regional Mayors and Councils know of your plans to pull the rug out from under them, after they’ve endured drought, bushfires and now the economic fallout from COVID-19. You can count on me to always defend regional NSW. But then again, our regional communities are pretty good at speaking out for themselves. Jodie, I suggest you read a few of those regional submissions to the Inquiry before we get started. https://www.smh.com.au//coalition-seats-big-winners-from-s

03.01.2022 The NSW Government is extending its partnership with charity organisation GIVIT to ensure goods and services donated by the public reach people who need them mo...st in regional cities and towns recovering from the impacts of #drought and #bushfire. A further $407,000 in funding will enable the national not-for-profit organisation to continue to facilitate requests for essential items through its online donation platform for a further 12 months. So far more than 85,000 donated essential items such as white goods, appliances, groceries, fuel vouchers and everyday toiletry items to people who have been doing it tough. I encourage all charities and groups involved in bushfire relief and recovery to register with GIVIT’s online donation management platform, so they can quickly access the specific items their communities urgently require. 02.01.2022 Last night I caught up with Peter Gleeson on Sky News Australia to explain why the NSW Nationals are fighting for changes to the proposed SEPP. This issue isn't... about personalities, it's not about the Premier versus the Deputy Premier. This issue is about getting positive outcomes and developing good planning policy that benefits wildlife as well as supporting our farmers, industry and regional communities. See more

01.01.2022 It was an honour to help officially open the Ian Armstrong Building in #Orange today. On 21st August, 1989, The Hon. Ian Armstrong announced the relocation of t...he Department of Agriculture head office from Sydney to Orange, it was the largest and most ambitious decentralisation project in the Nations history. Today we begin a fresh chapter in the success story that is the decentralisation of public services jobs throughout #RegionalNSW. The new building on Prince Street will be home to 700 staff from 8 departments bringing world class public service capabilities to the #CentralWest whilst also enabling new job opportunities into the future. Thank you to Minister for Water, Public Housing and Lands, The Hon. Melinda Pavey and the Armstrong Family for allowing me to be apart of such a special day!
