Most of the black wattles that we planted 20 years ago have reached the end of their life and today we had a major clean out in preparation for planting new trees. His partner is currently sitting on eggs in a nearby tree. 13.01.2022 The vagaries of the Barwon River. We have been filling our dams from the river. After watching water gauges along the river for days when it was raining we thought we were out of the flood risk. Yesterday the river came up quickly. Luckily we found it just in time to wade around to unhook all the pipes and finally pulled the pump out of the water just after dark. An exciting but unwanted end to the day.
