23.01.2022 BSA SPORT UPDATE NETBALL - Trials for the 13’s Netball Squad will be held in FEBRUARY 2021 next year, stay tuned for details in the new year.... TENNIS - Congratulations to all who trialed for the Tennis Victoria / BSA Tennis program. 15 players have been selected in the main squad, with 8 others identified as development athletes. Thanks to the advisory panel who conducted the trials & to all local coaches who nominated their players and promoted the program. 22.01.2022 SAILING ACHIEVEMENTS BSA sailor Aidan Simmons has won the NSW Optimist State Championship last weekend. Sailed at Middle Harbour Yacht Club on Sydney Harbour . In a fleet of 35 boats, Aidan scored 3x 1st places and a 5th in the four completed races. Aidan’s younger brother Callum also finished 10th overall

21.01.2022 BSA ROWING UPDATE On the weekend our BSA rowers competed in their first regattas of the season - under Rowing Victoria’s Return to Competition COVID Management Protocols, with fabulous results!! MELBOURNE HEAD - Congratulations to Meg Cartwright on winning the Female School Single Scull event at the prestigious Melbourne Head regatta on the Yarra River. Meg finished the 3.5km race in an impressive time of 14:43, making her the fastest female sculler on the day. Well do...ne Meg! ROWING VICTORIA REGATTA - At home on the Barwon, Issy Batrouney continued the winning streak, taking out the Female School Single Scull Open Division 1 at the Rowing Victoria Regatta. Issy also joined schoolmates in the Coxed Four Division 1 event, winning the heat and placing second overall. What a great start to the 20/21 season for these talented local scullers. Next weekend both girls compete at the National Water Sports Centre, Carrum. Good luck!

12.01.2022 SWIMMING ACHIEVEMENTS The Hancock Virtual Short Course Australian Open Meet occurred last weekend, with all States competing a the same time and results compiled into a central data base for final rankings across Sydney, Hobart, Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne! Madison Cooper competed in over 4 long distance races, having to swim some of her races back to back! With a personal best time in her 400m IM and finished the meet ranking 16th in Australia for the 200m ba...ckstroke Dylan Logan competed in 11 events, he achieved a total of 10 personal best times, off the back of less than 8 weeks solid pool time, but has credited his physical fitness thanks to some solid gym, cycling in his spare time and the help of the BSA strength and Conditioning sessions! He achieved 7x top 10 places for this meet which is remarkable as he was racing with Paralympians who were smashing out World Records and the competition standards were very high this year! The highlight for him was breaking 3 Australian Open SC S15 records, once these records are verified that takes his Australian Records tally to 12 in total now Well done Madi & Dylan!
