25.01.2022 Some more Bundjalung stars, telling what NAIDOC Week means to them.

25.01.2022 K/1 Maths Investigation - Fruit Cup Morning Tea - we had to share the fruit equally and answer questions such as, if one fruit cup has 2 strawberries, how many strawberries will I need for two fruit cups?' And 'If one fruit cup has half an apple, how many apples will I need for 2 cups... and what about for 4 cups?' Maths is fun!

22.01.2022 "Learn as much as you can about the culture and participate." - Aunty Deanna. Each year, NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, who are part of some of the oldest continuing cultures on the planet. #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe #NAIDOC2020 *Posted by the NSW Department of Education*

22.01.2022 Today's Deadly Bundjalung Culture lesson. 'She looked around, selected two stones and ground the seeds into a powder. She probably tasted it and later that day mixed it with a little water and cooked it by the fire. She made bread.' That was 65,000 years ago. - Bruce Pascoe in Young Dark Emu. We discussed this history and how genius the ideas of Aboriginal people were before colonisation. We made our own bread with 'powder' and a little water.
