A: The community spirit, as well as being surrounded by many different cultures. I grew up in a small town in the Hunter Valley, so having an education that also exposed me to people from different walks of life really broadened my perspective. Particularly now, flying overseas and getting to an international level in my career. 13.01.2022 Basair Graduate (2007) FO Harvey Ramirez Q: "What was a highlight from your time at Basair?" A: "My experience as an instructor. It is the purest form of multi crew. They (students) have little experience in the aircraft, so you have to let them make mistakes and not take over. Let them learn from errors. Communicate in an open and clear way, but also show empathy and guide their progress. Like coaching. Really instructing makes you a much better pilot because it prepar...es you to work with every crew and in every environment. It fostered my managerial skills, which later on helped me lead in the airlines." #AimHigh
