16.01.2022 Jim’s Final Game - 18th July 2020 The Game on the 18th July was my last game of Baseball, the final curtain I am retiring after fifty-seven years of umpiring S...oftball and Baseball. My first umpiring game was in 1963 at Camden Oval, (now the home ground of a large soccer club.) between Oaklands Softball Club and Sabers Softball Club. I wish to thank all of the Bulls for the Hospitality they have extended to me and the way that I have been included in all of the club’s activities over the more than twenty years that I have been with the club. I will never forget the Men’s Health day activities and the special dress up matches. And what about the day I was given the use of a Guide Dog to walk me out on to the field. I especially wish to thank the Wandering Bulls for their friendship and the good times that we had on our many trips to the Alice Springs Masters Games. Who could forget the accommodation at Toddy’s Back Packers or the warm ups to the tune of ‘Living Next Door to Alice’. Also, I wish to mention the Gooley family. I have umpired games for the Gooley family over three generations. First was John and his brother David, then Simon umpiring them through their careers and now I have called games for Elisa at the Bulls, at Summer Baseball and at State Training games. I may make a special umpiring appearances for 'special games' and in the meantime look forward to sharing a yarn over a drink watching Bulls Baseball from the sidelines. Thank you everyone. Jim Control-a Bull Davidson
