06.01.2022 Today, it wouldn’t feel right not to honour our amazing coach, incredible mentor and of course our son Evan, I write this with tears streaming but your achievements as a player, your love for the kids you coached and mentored & your incredible passion for the game will forever live strong & deserve to be shared This time last year all of our hearts were ripped open by the tragic news and passing of your beautiful Lauren and yourself......Our Baseline Families, your frien...ds & peers were left stunned by the unthinkable but your legacy will forever stay alive You ‘WERE’ Baseline Tennis mate! - You achieved so much as a player and will always be remembered as a champion in FNQ.....You co-captained the ‘Far North JDS Team’ with one of your besties, Leacy to the Queensland title.....you represented Peninsula countless times & you were Innisfail Club champion for many years. - You coached, supported and mentored young children who simply idolised you - You had a heart of gold that hated to see people being unfairly treated and you had the courage to stand up and back your convictions if your friends needed you to There are many reasons I am so proud to call you my son including all of the above however the way you loved your mum & sister is probably my greatest and proudest memory to treasure......they love & miss you so much buddy I grieve every minute of every day for our loss mate but I regularly stand on court whilst working with our next generation of young superstars knowing that you’re keeping a close eye on all of us and ensuring we continue the legacy you helped create being ‘Baseline Tennis’ I love you son Dad (Or Wayne-O to you) xxx
