19.01.2022 Our lovely volunteers have been staying connected in their fortnightly zoom sessions! This week's theme was Footy Grand Final and everyone looked great in their footy colours!

17.01.2022 Some of you might have seen a collection of decorated spoons in a park or front yard in your local area. ‘The Spoonville’ craze has become popular during COVID lockdowns and BASScare is getting in on the act to make a town of our own! We’re looking for volunteers to decorate, paint or dress up a spoon to join our town. You can use one of your spoons or we can give you one of ours to work your magic on.... If you’d like a spoon or have decorated one for us to pick up, call 9880 4709. Prizes for the best spoon and the most original spoon will be awarded!

15.01.2022 It's International Volunteer Managers Day today so a big shout out to our Volunteer Engagement Coordinator Deb who does a great job and is equally passionate about our volunteer community as she is about our clients and residents. She has done a fantastic job during the lockdown keeping our Volunteer community connected! Thanks Deb!

12.01.2022 Following on from the installation of the generator earlier this year, Faversham House has now had 300 solar panels installed on the roof to help increase our self-sufficiency for power supply and reduce our contribution to carbon emissions.

10.01.2022 We live in a great community These beautiful cards were dropped off by local resident, Yvonne. They were made by members of a Facebook Group made up of people from Surrey Hills, Mont Albert and Canterbury. Yvonne put the call out to the members of the Facebook group for cards and the response was tremendous. ... As you can see from the smiles on the faces of our residents they brought a lot of joy and happiness. Thank you to all our neighbours in our local community who contributed!

08.01.2022 Our happy 'chefs' are excitedly getting ready for our online cooking session where they will prepare several quick, easy (and most importantly delicious) recipes for you to try at home! Plus, they will share some simple Christmas gift ideas for you to bake. Zoom-in for a fun-filled afternoon in the kitchen. BASScare volunteers are also very welcome to join us!... Thursday 19th November 2pm. Contact Social Support on 9880 4709 to book a spot.

08.01.2022 Whether it’s the welcoming wag of a tail or the comforting purr in our lap, pets of all shapes and sizes have the ability to calm us, motivate us, promote feelings of companionship and even encourage socialisation. This is true for the young and the young-at-heart, and animal assisted therapy is having an incredibly positive impact in the aged care sector. Have a read to find out all about the benefits of pet therapy (and to check out some pics of BASScare’s own furry friend...s Peta and Charlotte!) https://bit.ly/2I9wVlR

08.01.2022 Trivia has been a staple of the Melbourne pub scene for decades so it will come as a nice surprise for many to discover that it’s actually a health benefit. That’s right trivia is good for you! Find out why... https://bit.ly/3f9ebPk

03.01.2022 We were so excited to welcome back our clients to exercise classes! A little different to the normal exercise class but these are our new COVID normal ones. Its great to see our clients again after all this time. We are looking forward to seeing others in the coming days and weeks at our community centres.

02.01.2022 Today we pause to remember all the service woman and men who have served our country. Lest we forget.

01.01.2022 Our lovely neighbours Leon (7) and Cleo (5) donated Thank You gifts to our residents and staff for International Older Persons day. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and kindness. You are absolute legends! Here are our residents enjoying their goodie bags and fabulous artwork.
