24.01.2022 The International Day of Peace ("Peace Day") is observed around the world each year on 21 September. Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations resolution,... Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace. Each year, Lions clubs around the world proudly sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster Art Contest in local schools and youth groups. This art contest for kids encourages young people worldwide to express their visions of peace. Students, ages 11, 12 or 13, are eligible to participate. One international grand prize winner receives US$5,000 and a trip to a special award ceremony with two family members at Lions Day with the United Nations. Each of the 23 merit award winners receives a cash award of US$500 and a certificate of achievement.
