01.01.2022 From July 1, the meningococcal B vaccine will be added to the National Immunisation Program schedule for Aboriginal &Torres Strait Islander infants. The free me...ningococcal B vaccine protects your baby against infection from meningococcal B bacteria, and can be given at the same time as other routine baby vaccinations from 2 months of age. An extra dose at 6 months is required for infants who have certain risk conditions. Your nurse, healthcare worker or doctor will advise if your child needs this extra dose. Children who missed out can still get their meningococcal B vaccines up until they turn 2 years of age. This catch-up program finishes on 30 June 2023.
