22.01.2022 This year, National Stroke Week (31 August 6 September 2020) is more important than ever. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, fewer people are calling triple zero (000) and going to hospital at the first signs of stroke. The diagnosis of stroke requires imaging of the brain by use of CT (computed tomography) or magnetic resonance. The Stroke Foundation recommends the F.A.S.T. test as an easy way to remember the most common signs of stroke. Using the F.A.S.T. test involves asking t...hese simple questions below: For more information visit https://strokefoundation.org.au/

20.01.2022 Some interesting information in reference to the introduction of Coronavirus. If you or someone you know fears they have been affected by the illness, ask your GP for a CT Chest referral. This has been shown to be the best screening tool for COVID-19.

16.01.2022 FUN FACTS ABOUT RADIOLOGY X-rays have been around for a long time! X-rays were discovered and developed by a German physicist named Wilhelm Roentgen in 1895. Within months of his announcement, physicians and surgeons were using them to detect foreign objects in the body. Within a year, the news and technology were being used in this country, to find bone fractures and treat gunshot wounds.

15.01.2022 As COVID-19 restrictions change across Australia, some patients may still be worried about attending imaging tests or procedures. We would like to encourage patients to continue attending their required imaging appointments and not delay treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic.

15.01.2022 Bass Hill Diagnostics wishes you all a Happy Easter! We are closing for the long weekend. We are opened again on Tuesday 14th April. Stay safe and stay home!

14.01.2022 October is Australia’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and provides an opportunity for us all to focus on breast cancer and its impact on those affected by the disease in our community. Finding breast cancer early reduces your risk of dying from the disease by 25-30% or more. Women should begin having mammograms yearly at age 40, or earlier if they are at high risk. Remember you do not need to be an expert or use a special technique to check your breasts.... Changes to look for include: - a new lump or lumpiness, especially if it's only in one breast - a change in the size or shape of your breast - a change to the nipple, such as crusting, ulcer, redness or inversion - a nipple discharge that occurs without squeezing - a change in the skin of your breasts such as redness or dimpling an unusual pain that doesn't go away.

12.01.2022 With everything that is going on in the world today, we wanted to offer a friendly reminder to keep looking after the most important thing to us. YOU! Our Women...'s Imaging Suite, in both Castle Hill and Corrimal, is still up and running offering a full range of Women's imaging services during these difficult times. We continue to offer 3D Mammograms, Breast Ultrasounds and Breast Biopsies with dedicated staff and doctors. By following the Breast Screen NSW steps on looking out for breast changes (See below) to speaking with your doctor and finally coming in to get your scan with us. Let us help put your mind at ease and let you focus on the many other things that require attention in these turbulent times. So call us today to book an appointment at 86601400 or go online and book at https://wdimaginggroup.com.au/book-appointment.html See more
