25.01.2022 Very excited to be picking up milk from the one and only dairy farm on Phillip Island. A big welcome to Annette, Adam and their daughter Sarah to the Bass River Dairies family, and recognise that their experience and commitment to producing the highest quality milk will come through in the dairy produce we make. Locals supporting locals

25.01.2022 A warm welcome back to our regular customers, and a big welcome to first time visitors. It’s been a long time, but with a little care we can now serve you the freshest, local dairy. Stay safe, and please drop in and see what we have been up to.

24.01.2022 The cheese case is full of our delicious range including our new Almurta washed rind, our popular Bassine Queen and our yummy fennel, Glen Forbes. Open Monday-Friday 10am-4pm And Saturday 10am-2pm

24.01.2022 Our milk goes into great cheeses like this too : -

23.01.2022 Farm shop getting a bit of a spruce up prior to re opening next week.

23.01.2022 This is the video of what we have been up to.

23.01.2022 This morning’s milking. The milk from these cows will be in bottles this morning. Being small and local has many advantages in providing the freshest, low food miles, and yummiest dairy produce.

22.01.2022 Our younger girls really miss visitors to the farm cafe / factory ! Fortunately the staff have been spoiling them with treats and attention, meaning, go out the side and they come running.

22.01.2022 Picking up some equipment from the team at Truline. Being Aussie made using Aussie steel, we know its a quality product and going to last. It was great to be able to pick up the phone and speak to the person who actually makes them. We have been saying it for years, can’t beat Australian products.

22.01.2022 Great day to be bottling milk. And you can still get free delivery across Victoria of our beautiful glass bottles and cheeses at the Click for Vic web site. https://viccountrymarket.com.au//bassine-specialty-cheese-

21.01.2022 Farm shop reopens Monday 14th September, but if you are in a lockdown zone there are online options.

20.01.2022 Exactly Willie. That’s why we only distribute within 100 km of our farm, makes sense really.

19.01.2022 Great product placement. We especially love the bottle of Bass River Dairies milk in the fridge door ! https://youtu.be/WuGOwk2pLl8

19.01.2022 Special delivery today.

19.01.2022 It’s never been more important to support local industries. When our old bottle labeller died we searched the world ( well we jumped on a pc and google searched ) for a replacement unit. We were fortunate to find a local manufacturer of high tech labelling machines right here in Melbourne. No waiting for containers to come from overseas, we were delighted to pick up our new Tronics labeller on Friday and take a tour of their factory. ... As those who follow us know, we have always placed a great deal of importance upon sourcing locally manufactured supplies and equipment. Recent world events remind us of how important this really is. Hope you stay safe dry on this wet weekend Glen - farmer

18.01.2022 More fresh milk straight from our farm to Hawkes Farm Store. Our additional Saturday morning deliveries means the freshest milk is available right through the week.

18.01.2022 Happy cows = Happy milk

17.01.2022 We may be small, but our team is big on safely continuing to produce and deliver the freshest local dairy. As all our production is done on farm, and delivered direct to your stockist. We are fortunate to not have the difficulties many city based manufacturing and distribution centres are facing. Stay safe, keep smiling, and together we will get through this.... ps pre COVID photo ! All staff now wearing face masks, practicing safe distancing, cleaning everything 100’s of times and basically just being careful.

16.01.2022 Another beautiful start to the day on the farm. Looking forward to when the ring of steel goes down and we can have family and friends from Melbourne back. Not long now

15.01.2022 Highly recommend a visit to Bassine Specialty Cheeses! The platter was delicious and the service very friendly. Will definitely visit again

14.01.2022 We don’t do home deliveries, but we do supply milk direct to your local store. No distribution Centre, no middle man, no long transport route. We also supply milk in good old fashioned returnable glass bottles.

12.01.2022 Our newest team member Tanya being shown the finer details of labelling dairy produce by Christine. Local dairy = local jobs

12.01.2022 Sometimes the packaging is not so clear as this ! Even with dairy produce here in Australia, how far has your purchase travelled, how many distribution centers has it been shipped to, before it reaches your local store ? We are proud to be supplying local dairy produce, straight from our farm. Fresh is best.

10.01.2022 We can’t believe it’s been two years since this post ! Hope everyone is having a safe and relaxing Cup Day holiday. And a big thank you to all the farmers, emergency workers and other essential services who are working today

09.01.2022 On the eve of easing travel restrictions in regional Victoria we are madly preparing our farm shop to comply with the new guidelines. One of our newer members, Maree, is training some of our heifers how to safely greet visitors ! While our prayers and thoughts go out to Izzy, who after completing her university studies last year, embarked on an amazing adventure in Spain, which soon after became one of the epidemic’s first hot spots! We remember only too well last years ...fire season, and how close it came to the home farm. And finally, like many others, we miss the company of extended friends and family. Staying connected by amazing technology, but unfortunately never able to replace a soo missed hug. The first photo is by courtesy of our friends in California, Straus Family Creamery, who are facing shocking bush fires. Wherever you are, stay safe, and together we can get through this.

08.01.2022 Just another fantastic destination in our region.

07.01.2022 Position Available in the Cafe.

05.01.2022 Click for Vic tonight! Last chance to get our cheese and other Victorian regional produce delivered to that very special man for Fathers Day. Order tonight! Don’t miss out!

03.01.2022 Who loves cheese? Yep, that’s us! We can’t think of anything better than some Bassine Cheese, Brie & Camembert, some merlot paste, yep, you heard right and b...etter believe it and of course some Corinella Candles! Perfect night in for us. The team are so helpful. Christine knew exactly what I wanted and pulled out the Brie for me! Happy hump evening.

02.01.2022 We are open with freshly pasteurised, non homogenised Bass River Dairies milk on the fridge shelves. Don’t forget you can return these glass bottles to the caf...e for reuse.
