24.01.2022 Basta Fizroy - Melbourne Lockdown 2.0 - There has been a little radio silence from the us the last couple of weeks. It was so lovely to see your smiling faces when the restrictions were lifted. We have been bunkering down - moving everything around (for what feels like the 10th time this year) and working out the best way to bring you Basta at Home. We have changed things up this time round. We have expanded our take home range of foods (think smoked lamb shanks, ossobuco,... tiramisu) our lasagne are restocked and will be serving hot meals from 5:30-7:45 Monday to Saturday night. Due to Covid we have had to permanently close our cafe next door (the donkey cafe). But we are now serving all of our sandwiches and coffee at Basta from 7:30-3pm Monday to Friday. Check out our website for the new additions to the take home range - we also have our pantry open. So if you live in Fitzroy and are going for your daily exercise support your local business instead of the big supermarkets. 23.01.2022 Missed us? We have missed you dining in. Now you can. We are opening for dinner on Thursday 4th. Bookings essential. We are a little restricted on space. Our upstairs dining room will be the ready for you to have your favourite basta dish (this is the squid ink linguine with prawns) give us a call to book a table. We will still be serving takeaway until we can be fully back to normal. Whatever normal will be.

The Donkey Wine Store & Cafe and Basta are trading out of the one venue to give you the Best of both businesses. 19.01.2022 We had a feeling this would come. Lockdown 2.0 for Melbourne hits tonight. We are running breakfast and lunch service today but have made the decision not to open tonight. We learnt a lot from the last lockdown and will be coming back with more take home/cook at home meals. We will communicate this over the coming days - We will be open for Takeaway Coffee/Sandwiches and Salads for the rest of the week from 7:30am. 11.01.2022 We have a date!!! We are excited!!!We will be ready to welcome you. 2020 has been a year that no one predicted. Many businesses like ours have had to adjust, pivot and reinvent themselves (more than once!) this year. We have moved the front room of @bastafitzroy around at least 6 times this year. We will be back with great food and service that we have always provided. We are expanding our outdoor seating (thanks to our neighbours) and changing a few things.
