21.01.2022 An Overview. Batemans Bay Nut Roasting Co P/L shop is still operating as per usual. Mon - Fri 10:00am to 4:00pm. Sat: - Sat 10:00am to 2:00pm Hoping to be back attending Markets in September!!... Due to the drought in 2019, there will be no Australian "Kingaroy" peanut crop this year. Thankfully we have some good stock amounts, but after they run out it will be Argentinean Peanuts. Macadamias also had a bad season, and coupled with increase demand due to the pandamic (? go figure?) there is a 27% increase in the wholesale price. 27%!! Obviously we cannot absorb this increase, (we have absorbed all annual increases for the past 4 or 5 years,) so a price rise will be imminent. Depending on how long current stocks last, perhaps 3 to 4 weeks and then all prices will increase. Get them whilst you can at this price! Pia, our Australian seaweed supplier is going from strength to strength and has opened a new factory/laboratory/sales outlet in Huskisson. You can read about her unique field and products here: www.phycohealth.com Pia sells our Wasabi and Seaweed Macadamias and calls them "Phycodamias" As for our shop, we love it when customers come in wearing masks, though apart from social distancing guidelines, only require that people use sanitiser before touching products. But.. Batemans Bay is very quiet.. Very quiet. Some online orders coming through, and as usual, our website is doing well as is EBay for our Maccas Macca Crakkas (Macadamia Nut Crackers.) We are taking 2020 in our stride. After 22 years, we have some momentum and have been looking at this year as our extended long service leave. A rare commodity in self empolyment. As a boss of mine used to say many years ago, "when the goings easy, take it easy!" 21.01.2022 Batemans Bay Nut Roasting would like to thank everyone for their thoughts over the past week or more. We are safe, presently sitting it out at home after more than a week without power. The shop, where we had been "Glamping" in our swag lost power 3 days ago. Hopefully it will be back on by the end of the week. Today is Monday Jan 6. 2020 started line no other. We have approximately 3 weeks trading before our annual holidays began where we will be away for 4 weeks. 06.01.2022 Our great Leader Scotty has just announced that "static gatherings of over 500 people will now be banned. Taking into consideration that outdoor markets are not "static" I am hoping that they will not be cancelled, rather left to each and everyones discretion to attend. (Watch this space.) Xia and I will continue to trade where and whenever possible. Our shop in Batemans Bay will be open Monday to Friday and our online store is ALWAYS open. We are strong believers in per...sonal hygiene, social distancing and self quarantining if necessary during these difficult times. Our medical systems are just not geared up for the numbers that are likely to be infected, so everyone needs to do their bit. Stay safe everyone.. 04.01.2022 Just back from Docs and have the all clear to head to China for a month starting January 27. We will be at Moruya and Mollymook this weekend and looking forward to some great days. First Moruya Market in a month and Markets dont get much better than Australia Day at Mollymook. Its a tradition for us. 02.01.2022 Be quick as the price of Macadamias is about to change. New season pricing is in and it is not good for us consumers. Our Grade 1 Raw Maccas are still only $22 per half kg., but this wont last long.. Get them whilst you can. Our shop is now back to reasonably regular hours. Tuesdays to Fridays 10am to 3:30pm, Mondays, whilst we have no Sunday Markets, we will remain open with the same hours, though when we do have a Sunday Market, (at this stage only Kiama on the 19th) Mondays will be our day off. Lots of Pearls, Fresh nuts, Oils, Alfresco Coffee and more.. Drop in for a chat..
