25.01.2022 I keep saying to Claudio that we need to make time to do this - of course we are busy now Region X is back...but I really must make time.

25.01.2022 We had some time yesterday before the moon rise shoot so we popped down to check out what the bridge crews have been up to over the past month. It looks like ...they are making some huge progress with the extended hours that theyve been working. It looks like it wont be long and the North side will be linked to the first Pylon. Please feel free to like and share.

25.01.2022 The last few months have been very different to every other trading period of the last 10 years. 2.5 months after the catastrophic fires of 31.12.19, we have received this postcard from the Swiss Honeymooners who were stuck here for 3 nights. It was a bonding time....too long a story for fb, suffice to say memorable for all of us. (and to think while we have been busy every day - they have been on holiday!)

24.01.2022 BBM is a small enterprise however we are abiding by the regulations set upon the accommodation sector. Claudio and I want guests to feel just as comfortable as they always have so we are taking on the extra load. eg; fluffy robes are still provided however they are now straight from the dryer and zipped into garment bags, full breakfast will still be included however I will cover where guests used to self-serve for juice, toast, cereals etc. Our communal facilities are limited. Everyone guest will still receive great value - even better pricing for multiple night stays. Call us if you have any questions. (Yes, I know I really need a haircut Deb Patterson)

23.01.2022 Check it out we made the news! So our lovely town is number 1 searched location for a regional getaway. #batemansbay #weekendgetaway #lovethebaybb #goingtothecoast #beachlife

23.01.2022 Six new bookings today and 2 drive ins tonight. At this stage we have 2 nights this month without a booking! First week back and the bags under my eyes are back too.

22.01.2022 Small business supporting small business - the way to go in our community! All the best for your new adventure!

21.01.2022 With all the silly panic buying of staples I have found it difficult keeping up with flour supply - heaven forbid not being able to bake muffins every day....I happened to mention this during breakfast service this morning. Well, I could hear a guests walking stick tapping on the tiles as it had lost its stopper - he had purchased a stopper that was a bit large so was heading out to buy liquid nails...of course, with hubby away it took a bit longer for the guest and I to complete the tasks but we got it done.......and they just returned from a morning out with 2 bags of self raising flour!!

21.01.2022 It is 10 years today since Claudio and I, with Rebekah and Douglas, took a leap of faith and moved into 22 Cors Parade. BBM was re established as a true, fully hosted Bed and Breakfast. I remember the green slimy pool filled with leaves, the cobwebs you could cut with scissors, the two tone apricot paint, worn carpets, dried flower arrangements in every room, very frilly furnishings......We opened 6 days later!

20.01.2022 We had planned this job when we first covid closed, however the railing did not arrive until a few days ago...so our final project before reopening on Monday has been to replace the tired woodwork on balconies #5 and #6 with new timber teamed with powder coated railings. Yes, literally all hands on deck and we knocked it over in 4 hours! By all hands I mean that DJ was the apprentice! ( and he only gave permission to show his Tshirt logo) Yes, all painted 2 coats in the brilliant sunshine. Yes, I am having a beer at 3.15pm on this Saturday afternoon as I will not get the chance again for a while.

19.01.2022 As Cadet activities are suspended at present, we did things a bit differently this year. I was not in uniform however attended a dawn service in a joint driveway here at home. Proud to be flanked by my boys, CDTWO2 Douglas DAmico and CUO William Zischka - the two highest ranking Cadets in our unit. Laid the flowers on behalf of 222 ACU at the Batemans Bay Cenotaph at 11am. Lest We Forget.

19.01.2022 A bridge update for those of you that can't visit yet.

18.01.2022 So things are a little quieter here at BBM like it is for most of us world wide. There is always plenty for us to do. Here are a few pics from outside my backdoor as I counted our blessings wandering back in from the clothesline.

16.01.2022 In November 1956, 64 years ago, Batemans Bay Bridge was officially opened. And this week, the last segment for the new Batemans Bay Bridge will be installed! #tbt #ThrowbackThursday Photo by Betty Murdoch, Batemans Bay Heritage Museum. More info: nswroads.work/batemansbaybridge

16.01.2022 BBM is located right in the middle of all this magic!

14.01.2022 Too busy to head to the beach......enjoy.

13.01.2022 For those of you that loved The Little Restaurant this is now in that spot. Hopefully Claudio and I will try soon.

13.01.2022 Progress shots - I drive past this always changing site several times a day.

11.01.2022 If youre not excited about it, its not the right path Abraham Hicks I was happy with this path at the Rockwall last night Winter sunrises and sunsets are... their own type of beautiful #moruya #eurobodalla #visitnsw

11.01.2022 31.12.19 is a date that we will never forget. The horrendous bushfires that had surrounded our region for months, stepped up again and took many homes and livelihoods. My personal social media has been awash with graphic reminders of the black afternoon skies, residents terrified and huddling on beaches, and images of the aftermath, loss of life, homes and livelihoods. I share with you a community event on the foreshore of Batemans Bay, a commemorative service seeing out 202...0. I look back on last year thinking about all our guests that stayed and quickly fled and those that could not make their reservations yet thanked us for our support. Mostly I think about the Swiss honeymoon couple that stayed for 2 unplanned nights with us; no power, no communications, simple meals and the bond we created. Lovely to receive a text message from Nathalie and Claudio from Switzerland this morning and knowing that their memories are of that time also. See more

09.01.2022 This is Pheonix - the lion cub born during the bushfires. You will also see Poppy, the Zebra born on Anzac Day. Up close viewing of all gorgeous animals. Spend a day at the Zoo when you are staying at BBM.

09.01.2022 One busy week has blurred into the next! Not complaining, even when the rooms are off line we are fielding phone calls. Last night I answered a call from a Telstra fellow, assessing communication towers around Braidwood, he couldnt go on any further! Happy to provide a hot shower, comfy bed and of course another early breakfast. Every guest in this week has called direct, one couple on their 3rd visit in 6 weeks to look at property and another returning for visit #6. The others are all travelling together and wanted the best rate.

08.01.2022 We may be physically isolated right now, but our ability to stay connected and support one another remains. Communicate with other business owners, share lesso...ns, share experiences, interact with each other. We are one giant business community. We keep fighting. #smallbusiness #businessowners #businessmotivation #supportlocalbusiness #mondaymotivation

08.01.2022 It is going to be stinking hot today so I have already watered 'out the back' while feeding the dogs. Usually I would be taking muffins out of the oven! Now for the front garden...then down the front paddock to retrieve branches that were in the tractors way. Then coffee - have a great day everyone.

08.01.2022 It has been almost 2 months since the fires swept through our village. The Gold Rush Colony has along way to go and our future is not yet written. I would like ...to thank all the amazing comments and images that have been put up on our posts since 31st December 2019. We have felt the love, it has been overwhelming and many tears have flowed . A big THANK YOU to all. So many great people have passed through our doors in the last 20 years and helped keep History alive. We have decided to open on a very small scale, we have 7 remaining buildings at the Gold Rush Colony including our gift shop. Opening on Thursday 5th March 2020 4 days per week - Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays from 10am to 3pm offering Gold Panning and a mini tour. Tour Times daily are 10.30am, 12pm and 1.30pm We will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Our Contact number is 0432 579 953 Looking forward to welcoming tourist back and Gold Panning See more

07.01.2022 WOW the phone is almost ringing off the hook - to the point I am wearing an apron so I can carry office supplies in my pockets - otherwise I wouldnt get the work done! So pleased to say that many people are booking direct - of course they are getting the best rooms at the best prices too.

07.01.2022 Today we’re flying our flags at half mast to mark the anniversary of the start of the Currowan bushfire. The Black Summer fires devastated 79 per cent of ou...r shire’s landscape, with the loss of three lives and more than 500 homes destroyed. It’s been traumatic year and the coming weeks will be tough for many in the community. At this time of reflection, we are grateful to the emergency responders who protected us, and we honour the courage of so many residents who worked together to provide safety and comfort in those dark days. 06.01.2022 Back in business! Fresh linen hot off the press.

06.01.2022 This may be the hardest post to write. Our ten year plan has come to fruition! It is time for Claudio, myself and our two amazing children, to say good bye from Batemans Bay Manor. We thank every one of you that have chosen to stay with us, supported and followed us through this decade. We aren't leaving just yet, however the accommodation is closed.... This isn't a 'fire'or 'covid' decision; the time is right for us to start a new chapter. There are many of you that have become friends over the years and I feel that I should contact each of you personally because you have been part of our story. Please accept this post as gratitude and respect for your custom and friendship. Image is of 'Pierre Bear', gorgeous flowers from 'our agent' Megan Goucher and a motto we live by: Happiness is Homemade! See more

06.01.2022 It has been a tough year so far - but we are still here and cant wait to start hosting again.

05.01.2022 My two spots for reflection this morning...from my office desk and across the pool as I have a cup of coffee - soaking up the winter sunshine.

04.01.2022 This is Moruya however this sight is very similar to what we have had around BBM this week. I think this would make a gorgeous canvas. What you you think? Credit to Nicola Eugenea Photography.

04.01.2022 A little bit of colour at my back door. Take Care everyone.

03.01.2022 My son took this very relevant and fun picture at the back of the Boatshed on 6th June, 2020. It looks as if the pelicans (and the seagulls) are very mindful of social distancing, but in reality this was a fleeting moment. What a beautiful Queens birthday weekend it was.

02.01.2022 Great to see bookings starting to flow again. No excuse for not being in the office on a cool, windy day...and pleased to say the fire is lit so it is cosy indoors. Remember you always get the best room rates when you book direct. We welcome phone calls, emails and messages regarding availability.

02.01.2022 Thanks to everyone still following our little page. It seems the more things change the more they stay the same. The world around us changes daily, but we still have our little piece of paradise, away from it all, where we stay safe and sound. Although things are quiet on the guest front, we are keeping busy behind the scenes. Mopping up after flooding rains has been a messy task completed twice in the last two weeks! Today was another messy day....having 5 trees removed from the backyard...strange thing is that everything is so green and lush it is hard to tell anything is missing. The tricky part was completed by a local fella - Scott Innes who happened to text his account with the comment thanks for letting me hang out at your place today!

01.01.2022 So much love to everyone whos made their way in to support us rain, hail, shine, corona and fire. Shoutout to all our fellow south coast hospo family who are s...till hanging in there The Sandbar Batemans Bay Sams Pizzeria on the waterfront Smokey Dans Crumb Starfish The Boatshed well done guys !
