25.01.2022 Would you and your child be interested in attending a weekly inter-generational playgroup at a local aged care facility? We have been consulting with the activities coordinator at the OPAL aged care facility in Denhams Beach and she would be delighted to host our families each week as a regular playgroup. We would attend on a Tuesday morning at 10.30am for one hour. (day and time to be confirmed, at this stage one hour is work will work best for the residents)... This playgroup wont interfere with our Friday playgroup. We are hoping to have it up and running in Term 1 2020. Please comment below if you are interested and I can check your membership status. If you are not a member, no worries as I can sort that out easy, Membership is FREE!

23.01.2022 Batemans Bay Playgroup will take a 2 week break due to school holidays and resume on Friday the 26th of July. We are looking at forming a new volunteer committee going into term 3. We will need to fill positions of Coordinator, Secretary, Treasurer and a NEW fundraising position. All roles can be shared and are not excessive or intrusive of your time. If you would like to be involved we would love to have you.... Volunteering with playgroup is rewarding, and counts toward the work/activity test for the CCS. AGM IN TERM 3 to appoint positions time and date TBA

19.01.2022 Hi Playgroupers, In light of recent events occurring in our local area and with Batemans Bay becoming a COVID19 hotspot, we have decided that Playgroups long awaited return will now occur in week 3 on Friday the 7th August. (Please be mindful that this may change as the current COVID19 situation unfolds) ... While the state government and ESC have left it up to us to decide, we feel it would be irresponsible to proceed this week. We are very sorry and we hope you understand our concerns. Due to the state governments restriction of 20 people at social gatherings, we are working with PGNSW to implement a fair booking system when playgroup does return. 17.01.2022 The Batemans Bay Playgroup committee have decided to postpone playgroup for the next 4 weeks. 14th, 21st, 28th August and the 4th September. :-( After speaking with PGNSW head office, the committee has agreed that we do not want to put our families, and community playgroup volunteers at risk. While we agree that Covid cases may be the new normal for our community, we need time to figure a way to effectively and safely run our community playgroup.... While we cannot meet on our regular Friday mornings, we would love to help facilitate informal play catch ups at the park and other outdoor spaces.

05.01.2022 Hi Playgroup Families, As you are all aware the Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 is becoming a concern within our communities. Playgroup NSW have posted on their Facebook page recommending the temporary closures of community playgroups until further notice. While we are reasonably safe in Batemans Bay with no confirmed cases I would rather be safe and suggest that we temporarily close playgroup until at least term 2. ... 03.01.2022 POSTPONED UNTIL 7TH AUGUST 2020 Important information for next weeks commencement of playgroup with our COVID safety plan. Beginning next week we will-... Have a 20 person limit on playgroup attendees inline with NSW covid regulations. Booking system will be implemented. Look for updates the week before commencement Have a QR code for you to scan to electronically sign in. PGNSW will keep these records for 28 days in accordance with the covid plan. Be providing hand sanitiser for your family to use on entry to playgroup. Ask that you bring your own food and drink bottle for your child, there will be no shared fruit platter. (Just checking on the tea and coffee situation) Ask that if anyone in your household is feeling unwell that you not attend until everyone is healthy. Ask that you bring your own blanket or playmat for babies. We are unable to provide these in accordance with the COVID plan. Ask that you note the maximum number of adults and children allowed in the indoor space is 19, please be mindful of this. Be spacing out the activities to practice social distancing and will be unable to set up playdough or sensory activities at this time. Ask that everyone assists in cleaning toys and resources throughout the morning and at pack up time. We will set up activities that are easier to clean. We will have disinfectant wipes and spray available. If you have any questions or concerns please message us. 02.01.2022 To our Northside Families, Thank you for your support and understanding of our centre being closed on Thursday and Friday. We are so glad to report that the fir...e threat has improved and we are no longer in direct danger from the fire. Therefore, we are open on Monday 9th December and welcome our children with open arms. Some of our staff including our centre director, Lise, are still unable to come to work due to road closures, however, we are hopeful that everything will return to normal soon.
