19.01.2022 WHAT A WIN! Let’s paint a picture.. After what was a greatly contested but unfortunate result on Saturday for both of our rebels and lady Bushrangers, the pressure was on for the juniors on Sunday morning. Having juniors be in the grandfinal is an absolute WIN for the club already. But that didn’t stop the nerves as our under 12’s took the field.... Going out in good spirits, they put on an amazing performance in terrible weather! At times it was hard to see with how heavy the rain was! Unfortunately, Orange came out in the second half and were the close winners on the day. We are so proud of our under 12s and a huge congratulations to Alex Sparks and Dave Clyburn on a hugely successful year. Now it was time for the under 14’s to take on the GF. The pressure was high, and after seeing the under 12’s narrowly miss the trophy, they were keen to go out and win for the whole club. With a wall of Bushranger spectators and support, all dripping wet from the relentless rain but eyes glued to the game, it was hard not to feel the club banding together as one. A tight start to the game, the nerves were high. In MANY suspenseful moments and close goals, the under 14’s were keeping us all on edge! But then the rain cleared for just a moment, and the Bushrangers were away, giving themselves a great lead. They held out the Orange Tigers right to the end in an emotional and AMAZING win! In arguably one of the best moments for the club, there were many tears on the sideline! We are so proud of everyone on that day! Well done to Steve Grundy and Paul Knight on a fantastic season. It has been YEARS since a junior Bushranger team had won a premiership. Making it all the more special - Win or lose, 2020 has been a resounding win for the Bushrangers. 3 senior men’s teams, senior women’s, under 17’s boys, Youth girls, under 14’s, under 12’s, Auskick and 3 netball teams. What a club! Now it’s time for our senior men to take on the big dance this Saturday! We are all behind you! We can’t wait to band together and see some great footy. Up the Bushies! More photos to come!
