25.01.2022 Hope everyone is keeping their teeth in tip top condition! Summer is coming up so we want everyone to be proud of their pearly white smile! Keep smiling :)

24.01.2022 A quick guide to brushing your teeth. Make sure you brush your tongue to get rid of the odour-causing bacteria! Doing so will give you a fresh breath so you can keep smiling :)

22.01.2022 The best drink in the world is good old plain H2O! Our ancestors (and all other living beings) have been drinking it for thousands, if not millions of years so we can tell that it's the way to go. It's alright to treat yourself to some tastier drinks occasionally, but only in moderation. ... Save the soft drinks, wine and sparkling water for special occasions! Keep smiling :)

22.01.2022 Flossing is an essential part in keeping your mouth healthy. It helps to get rid of food debris and plaque from the spaces between your teeth, where your toothbrush can’t reach. As a result, flossing helps prevent gum diseases, tooth decay, and bad breath. You should be aiming to floss at least once a day alongside with brushing your teeth twice a day to keep you mouth in tip top condition! We know that it seems to be too troublesome or too time consuming but think of it thi...s way: spending a few minutes at night can save thousands of dollars of dental treatment as well as spare you from a lot of pain. As Benjamin Franklin said - An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure [Or "a stitch in time saves nine" Whichever idiom floats your boat :)] Keep smiling :)

20.01.2022 Do you often pain or discomfort when you eat something hot or cold? If you do, it means you may have sensitive. But don't worry! There are multiple ways to fix your teeth, depending on how severe the case is. Special Toothpastes - There are specific toothpastes that can help block the sensation of pain after a few uses. These are relatively inexpensive can be found at most pharmacies.... Fluoride Gel - Following your dentist's instructions, apply this can help strengthen your teeth's enamel. Enamel is kind of like the 'armour' of the teeth and it protects your teeth's nerves from the hot and cold. Dental Treatment - This should be your very last option. You may have to resort to dental treatment if you have a very severe case such as tooth decay or a receding gum-line. Of course, prevention is always easier than trying to cure the problem so make sure to maintain good oral health! Keep smiling :)

18.01.2022 The Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS) is a Federal Government funded project which provides financial support for basic dental services for children where the following eligibility criteria is met: - The child is aged between 2 17 years for at least one day on the calendar year of the dental services provided.... - The child is eligible to receive Medicare - Certain government benefits are received by the family, carer or guardian, e.g. Family Tax Benefit At Centre for Dental Excellence, we participate in the CDBS. If your child is eligible and there are funds available, they can access a wide range of services including: examinations, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals and extractions. Please call us on (02) 6331 6888 to check your child’s eligibility.

16.01.2022 Make sure you are brushing your teeth with toothpaste! Even though that may seem obvious, we have seen many cases where the patients didn't brush with toothpaste meaning that their oral health still deteriorated. Make sure that the toothpaste you use has fluoride in it as it hardens the tooth surface, making it more resistant to the acid attack of bacteria, and slows down the action of these acid-producing bacteria. ... There are also specific types of toothpaste that will help with particular teeth and gum conditions. For example, there are toothpastes that are specifically made to help those with teeth sensitive to the heat and cold. Choose the toothpaste that suits your needs the most and keep smiling :)

13.01.2022 I know this is a click-baity article but at least there is some chemistry explained in it! (If you are wondering, the acid is uric acid) However, the 99% accurate home pregnancy test is the way to go if you want a proper result XD Keep smiling :)

12.01.2022 Dental occupations take 5 out of the top 7 jobs :O But don't worry! At Centre For Dental Excellence, we ensure that all our equipment is cleaned thoroughly and sterilised after each patient. Using a combination of antibacterial solvents and the autoclave, no harmful contaminants are safe from us! Keep smiling :)

11.01.2022 Tooth restored with a porcelain crown.

11.01.2022 Manual vs Electric toothbrushes... which is the way to go? There are many arguments around this matter but essentially, it comes down to what YOU need. Manual toothbrushes have the advantage of being available everywhere at an affordable price. They are also very portable so if you travel a lot, manual is the way to go.... Electric toothbrushes have their merits as well. They are suitable for those who don't have the dexterity to brush well such as the elderly or those with arthritis. However, the most important part is actually brushing in the first place! Make sure that your tooth brush has SOFT bristles and that you are using fluoridated toothpaste! Keep smiling :)

06.01.2022 So you always hear people saying "Don't eat this!" or "Don't eat that!" However, it's unfair to say that without giving a substitution! Our team recommends: For drinks - Still water is the best drink! If you want to sweeten your tea/coffee, you should use honey instead of sugar and artificial sweeteners... For food - Instead of having lollies and chocolates, have fruit (Nature's own candy!) The slideshow in the link (at the bottom) gives us 7 foods that are beneficial for teeth in a myriad of ways. Try incorporating some of these into you diet and keep smiling :)

04.01.2022 A very informative article on an increasingly common problem. If you are suffering this, our team believes that natural stress relief is the best cure. Some examples are: - Light exercise such as walking - Drinking warm milk before you sleep... - Having a warm bath (bath salts are optional!) Try these before falling back to medications as we believe that by following natural methods, the body will have less side effects

04.01.2022 Well... We don't endorse this anymore XD Keep smiling :)

03.01.2022 In this world where we seem to become busier everyday, we must remember to take care of our health! The best way to maintain good oral health is by developing good habits! Habits are part of our subconscious which we use in over 50% of our daily tasks!!! So by developing good habits, we can ensure a better life! Keep smiling :)

02.01.2022 Unfortunately, Hollywood has given us dentists a bad rep :( However, oral health is a vital part of life as without teeth, we can't eat - and obviously we have to eat to survive! The problems may not show up now, but it is a common problem not having strong teeth in your elderly years. A problem which will only continue to get worse due to the increasing availability of cheap, sugary foods as well as our increasing lifespans. ... Here at Centre For Dental Excellence, we treat our patients with utmost care and ensure that you are comfortable at all times. Our staff are highly trained in making your experience as peaceful as possible. If you know of friends or family who have a fear of dentists, please share this post to them to help their future livelihood! Keep smiling :)
