25.01.2022 Thank you Donna and Selina for looking after the munchkins on our annual Christmas Lights tour for the kids. The Volunteer Drivers said the kids had a ball.
24.01.2022 To all our clients, volunteers and staff, We wish you a very Merry Christmas! Bathurst Community Transport will reopen at 8.15am on Thursday the 2nd of January.
24.01.2022 Did you know Reliance Bank has provided a whoping $75,000 in sponsorship funding since 2014 for the Bathurst Radiation Bus Service. The Reliance Bank are great supporters of this service and without their yearly sponsorship it would make running this service a whole heap harder as this service is not funded by government............Did you know why Reliance can do this, they do not pay share holders like the big banks and can instead support communities. A huge thank you from our Community Reliance Bank
24.01.2022 Did you know? Bathurst Community Transport offers out of town transport to places such as Orange, Lithgow, Katoomba, Dubbo, Mudgee and many locations in Sydney. This type of transport is provided by our wonderful team of Volunteer Drivers who could be leaving Bathurst at 7am and not returning to 6pm.........our community is extremely fortunate to have these men and women who put up their hands and put their driving skills to get people to where they would like to go, need to go or dream to go..........a huge thank you Volunteers
23.01.2022 Exciting news ....... keeping up with technology. Bathurst Community Transport will be this week replacing our paper subsidised taxi vouchers with the new Cab Charge cards. The cards are being sent out this week with an information sheet attached. The Cab Charge cards will work the same as the vouchers without all the paper! The cards will have the name of the client on the card which they will need to sign and be able to use the card 20 times per month. Each time a client ...taps/uses the card it will deduct the same amount off the taxi fare as their previous paper vouchers. The balance of the Cab Charge cards will be updated at the commencement of each month. No need now to be phoning the office and waiting for the vouchers to come in the mail, simply by keeping the card in your wallet or purse the subsidy will be available with a simple tap on the card reader in the taxi. Any questions or enquiries please do not hesitate to call our office on 6331 3322 See more
21.01.2022 Today is International Volunteer Day and we would like to thank and celebrate our wonderful volunteers. Without your help and commitment we couldnt provide the 1000s of trips we do each year. Thanks to our drivers and thanks to the many other volunteers who work quietly behind the scenes.
20.01.2022 Thanks SSS. Its our pleasure to help out. Have a great week!
19.01.2022 Kim Hastings our Coordinator is our friendly voice on the other end of the phone. Kim works tirelessly ensuring all our clients get from A to B.

19.01.2022 The Bathurst Wiradyuri and Community Elders also attended the Farmers Market last Saturday, especially to Smoke and Cleanse our vehicles. The Smoking and Cleansing Ceremony conducted by the Elders attracted a large audience with some community members taking up the offer to join in on the proceeding. Thank you Bathurst Wiradyuri Elders, our vehicles are now ready to continue to provide safe and comfortable transport to those people in our community who Need a lift.

17.01.2022 Thank you Di and Mick, you have truly shown the real generosity of the Bathurst Community........as we know running a small business has its challenges, not always easy and doesnt create huge amounts of profit, your donation simply demonstrates your community commitment and empathy.........your donation has replaced the contributions from the passengers to July 2018.....absolutely amazing
16.01.2022 A lovely article in the weekend paper.

14.01.2022 Thank you to the Bathurst Farmers Markets for allowing Bathurst Community Transport to display five of our ten vehicles last Saturday. A foggy and cold morning didnt keep away people coming and having a look at the varied transport options our organisation can offer to our Community. BCT is also happy to promote our organisation as being an approved National Disability Insurance Scheme provider. Also a big thank you to Gary, Barry, Pete and Barbara, four of our 31 Volunteers for coming along with the vehicles and chatting to interested community members.
12.01.2022 Yet another story of generosity Sylvia travelled on the Bathurst Radiation Bus for a number of weeks in 2016. Sylvia stated this Bus service was far more than transport as the people travelling on the bus supported one another and lasting friendships were formed. Whilst Sylvia was going through her treatment her friends would come to her home each week and sit knitting, crocheting or doing some type of craft to keep Sylvia company and to let Sylvia know they cared. This g...roup of friends have continued to meet each week and have knitted or crocheted a number of blankets for the local Nursing Homes then deciding to put together a handmade Baby Hamper to raffle for the Radiation Bus Service. These ladies put together a beautiful hamper and sold tickets at the local Clubs and in town, raising just over $1,000. In addition two of our Volunteers put up their hands up to help sell tickets as well, selling $500 worth of tickets, 400 were sold to the Perthville community. The kindness of our community continues to amaze us here at Bathurst Community Transport. From small things big things come. See more
12.01.2022 Please take care in this heat. Our town car is available if you need to get somewhere. Just give us a call on 6331 3322
12.01.2022 Danny Clayton ALOs volunteer and jokester surprised Kim our Coordinator with a special delivery of a still warm homemade banana muffin, plate and personal delivery. This came about after Kim commented on the lack of a plate last batch Danny bought into the office. Wonderful way to finish the week with a bit of humour and banter with our ALO partners.
12.01.2022 Wonderful news! Correspondence received from the Point-to-Point (P2)Commissioner, Barbara Wise on Monday has taken the pressure valve off the Bathurst Radiation Bus Service. The Commissioner has stated in her letter to Bathurst Community Transport; that based on the information we provided to the P2P Commission, the Bathurst Radiation Bus Service is not covered by the P2P law. This statement is a welcome relief for our Community and Volunteers. The Bathurst Radiation Bus Ser...vice can now ask again for a $5 contribution per person a day once again to travel on the bus to Orange and return. These contributions add up to $7,000 per year which is then invested back into the service. Please note however, we would never not transport a person who is not is the position to pay $5 per day. A huge thank you to everyone for the support we have received during this period of uncertainty. We would also like to thank the Hon. Paul Toole MP our Local Member for taking our concerns to the Minister for Transport and Russell Meadley, Business Connect Advisor, Central NSW Business HQ who worked on a submission to exempt this service. Great outcome! See more
10.01.2022 A Story of generousity Last week we had a older gentleman come into the office who had used the Bathurst Radiation Bus on two separate periods, both six weeks stints. He handed over a cheque for $300 to go towards the Radiation Bus but when we got talking to him we realised he was a farmer. We then asked him How are things going on the farm? The man stated it was one of the worst droughts he had seen, they had sold most of their stock, buying feed and out of 21 dams onl...y three had some water left in them. He then said if we dont get good rain in the next 6 to 9 months they would have to walk off his land. Both myself and Kim looked stunned......... here we were looking at a man who was doing it really tough and donating $300, we were lost for words. We tried to talk him out of donating but he said, This service helped me out and having people to travel with each day, going through the same problems was a blessing, we all supported each other and had many laughs, its more than transport. A true Australian; one we are fortunate to have living in our community See more
09.01.2022 Thank you Reliance Bank, your generous sponsorship has a made an incredible difference to many lives of the Bathurst Community https://www.facebook.com/leonie.schumac//10155710627919379
09.01.2022 A wonderful Editorial in todays Western Advocate. BCT agrees wholeheartedly! We live in a very generous community so thank you for sponsorships and donations. This service would not survive without your support and of course our fantastic Volunteers. The Bathurst Radiation Bus is owned and driven by our Community, one you can be all proud of.
07.01.2022 How great is this group of men, not even Bathurstians! The Great Walk Foundation have done it again, out of the blue donating a whopping $7,500 to the Bathurst Radiation Service, topping their donation from last year of $5,000. A huge thank you to all of their Team and also to Scotty from the Knickerbocker Hotel for putting our name forward. The balance of the cheque $7,500 was donated to the Kelso Community Hub, these dollars will definitely make a huge positive impact on our Community. A simple thank you does not seem to mean much but it does to all the people who will benefit from this generous donation. Thank you from the Bathurst Community.
06.01.2022 Can we help you? We have a few vacancies on our town bus for any of our clients needing to get around town today. Just give us a call at the office on 6331 3322.
04.01.2022 Early morning rivalry between BCT and ALO for V8 race weekend. Kim Hastings, Coordinator from BCT placed her Ford supporters flag and photo at the door of Holden supporter Denise Simpson, Social Support Coordinator. You need a sense of humour to work in our building. We play together but more importantly our two organisations work together, partnering to create improved outcomes for our clients

04.01.2022 Did you know........Bathurst Community Transport (BCT) travels out to Hill End and Sofala in one of our buses to provide transport so Community Members from these villages can access Bathurst each fortnight? BCT and our wonderful team of Volunteers also transport individual people from these districts to come to Bathurst and at times Orange to access shopping, social, personal business and medical treatment. Once again this would not occur without the support of our Volunteer Drivers..............thanks as always to this generous group of people
