25.01.2022 Few more photos on the finish line of the 2020 Renshaw's Pedal Project Rockley Cup. The Bathurst Cycling Club promotes the Rockley Cup as a participation event however due to the difficulty of the race with 3 climbs up the infamous Rockley Mount a support event was added in 2016 which climbed Rockley Mount twice. The race was christened The Little Rock by Marian Renshaw and was raced for the 5th time on the weekend (29/11/20). Expanding that concept a little further in 2020 ...it was decided to add a 3rd race on the day called the Pebble Cup which climbs the dreaded Rockley Mount one time. Photo - First Winner of the Rockley Cup Geoff Rice on hand to see the first running of the Pebble Cup and the 5th running of the Renshaw's Pedal Project Little Rock Congrats to top 5 in The Little Rock - Mark Windsor David Hyland Gary Theiss Peter Hickey & 2 times winner Rosemary Hastings - and well done Joanne Renshaw, Tracey Robinson & Robyn Partridge in the first ever Pebble Cup.. A Grade (Round6 Renshaw Pedal Project Road Series) A Grade has been dominated by Olivers Racing rider Will Hodges and he again won the final rou...nd, however the feature of the A Grade event was the form of young Orange Junior (and Bathurst Club Member) Luke Tuckwell who continues to improve and was only beaten by Hodges in the sprint after the pair broke clear on Quarry Hill. 21.01.2022 Adams returns to the sport to win 2020 trophy Race: World Para Cycling Champ Emilie Miller started well but it was Tracey Robinson and Robyn Partridge that quickly got into a rhythm and established a solid lead early in the race. Behind them former European Professional Kirsten Howard had Bec O’Connor and Joanne Renshaw working smoothly, while behind them Cathy Adams and Kerryn Windsor had started particularly fast. The backmarkers Kalinda Robinson and Toireasa Gallagher w...here impressive early catching the block bunch which included former state representative Kate Tallentire, junior star Ebony Robinson and 2008 Gallagher Fastest Time winner Jille Harris. The backmarkers then swelled further with strong riders Jette McKellar, Fran Walker, Trudy O'Connor and Junior Champ Charlotte Lovett joining the chase. However the winning move came when Cathy Adams broke clear of co marker Kerryn Windsor and stormed to the lead. In a desperate finish the backmarker group finished very fast but Adams hung on by a handful of seconds to win her first Gallagher Trophy Race. NSWIS rider Kalinda Robinson won the sprint for second and in doing so, recorded fastest time for the 2020 Gallagher Trophy (28:47) with Charlotte Lovett finishing third infront of strong riders Toireasa Gallagher, Jette McKellar, Fran Walker, Jille Harris and Kate Tallentire. Early leaders Robyn Partridge and Tracey Robinson held on well to make the top 10 ahead of Bec O’Connor, Kirsten Howard, Joanne Renshaw, Ebony Robinson and Trudy O'Connor; with Emilie Miller finishing with Marian Renshaw Kerryn Windsor and Rosemary Hastings who is the only rider too have ridden every Gallagher Women’s Trophy Race. 17.01.2022 Mens Support Event The men's cycling traditionally play second fiddle to the female riders on Gallagher Trophy Race Day, but the Club still runs an all-male Support Event, with a handicap held on the Quarry Two Roads course There was plenty of firepower on the back marks with Scratchmarkers Luke Tuckwell and Jeremy Ryan catching blockriders Craig Hutton and Mark Windsor and then chasing hard to catch the large 4m30sec group of Drew Tuckwell, Dave Reece, Tony Shaw, Stuart Rens...haw, Will Lesh and Graham Peadon. Yet out front, the Aleks Krajcer, Michael Robinson & Kevin Bell Group had started fast and caught David Hyland, Gary Theiss and Peter Hickey and held a winning lead at the final turn. Aleks Krajcer recording and impressing win from the more experienced Michael Robinson with Peter Hickey 3rd. Ray Thorn won the sprint for 4th followed in by Robert Stephen, Damien Bennett, Rod Esdaile, Pete McKinnon, Nev Krahe and Cadel Lovett. Orange star Luke Tuckwell continues to improve recording fastest time (40:50) in the event from co marker Jeremy Ryan, followed by Craig Hutton Mark Windsor and Cadel Lovett. See more

16.01.2022 2020 Renshaw's Pedal Project Bathurst Road Championships 19th Sept 2020 With the first Bathurst Cycling Championships held over 135yrs ago in 1885, the Club Championships are a prestigious affair with great fields lining up in 5 separate grades for 2020 titles on the very Historic Vale Race Circuit. The A Grade field was particularly strong this year. Will Hodges attacked right from the start with the field blown apart in the first kilometre of the race. Young Orange star L...uke Tuckwell joined Hodges in the lead with Cowra’s Jeremey Ryan chasing hard after getting away from Craig Hutton who dropped back to the Stephen Dunstall and Mark Windsor group while behind them defending Club Champ Brad Rayner was chasing hard with Jack Reen. On the last lap Will Hodges (Olivers Racing) attacking to win solo with Tuckwell winning the sprint for 2nd with Jeremey Ryan. Hutton sprinting clear of Windsor and Dunstall for 4th. Excellent field in the B Grade Championship with former A Grade champ Steve Bennett jumping clear in the sprint only to be rundown by the very experienced Tony Barlow and another former A Grade Champion Drew Carter who timed his run perfectly to take the championship. Rod Lovett David Reece rounded out the top 5 followed in by Cadel Lovett and Hollee Simons who was the champion female of 2020. Scott James, Brian Draper and Will Lesh rounded out the top 10 ahead of Patrick Crump and Steve Scott Mick Foran has recovered from a serious arm injury to outsprint inform rider Nick Barrett and the promising Ebony Robinson in C Grade Bathurst road Championship. Rob Stephen continues to improve finishing 4th infront of Phil Stapleton, Darren Fenton and Peter Wilson. Tim Roebuck, Neville Krahe and Peter McKinnon rounding out the top 10 ahead of Bruce Hutton and Fran Walker. Young Charlotte Lovett surprized the more experienced rider in D Grade defeating David Hyland and club legend Rosemary Hastings. Fourth in the title going to Gary Theiss ahead of Peter Hickey, with Ben Hamer finishing 6th. Meanwhile Orange rider Kristy Crump won E Grade defeating Robyn Partridge and Tracey Robinson. See more

15.01.2022 Did You See That Amazing Stage of the Tour De France Overnight with a 21yr old Tadej Pogacar now set to win the world biggest cycling race. Many of you may not know about the Tadej Pogacar connection with the Central Western NSW Australia and the Bathurst & Orange Cycling Clubs Did you realise that the new Tour de France superstar was a team mate of our own Tim Guy (and Muswellbrook’s Ben Hill). Yet further to that, Tim Guy was a part owner of the team that brought Tade...j Pogacar into senior racing in 2018. The Continental Cycling Team of Ljubljana Gusto Xaurum HeadCrack Team set up an environment for Pogacar, who back then was a teenage cycling prodigy, to develop into a Tour De France winner in 2020. Orange Resident (and a former Bathurst Cycling Club member) Tim Guy was heavily involved with the negotiations to get the Pogacar Team up and going, even putting his cash into the team via his mental health Awareness Company Head Crack which came on board as a sponsor. Tim also a rider on the Ljubljana Gusto Xaurum HeadCrack roster was very aware of the talent of Pogacar and we often discussed that he could be a future Tour de France winner. Now while Tadaj Pogacar may have always had the talent to win the Tour De France I am certain that Tim Guys 2018 Ljubljana Gusto Xaurum HeadCrack Teams Development Program is the reason he has won it as a 21yr old. The teams program was based around the cycling prodigy and it allowed him to engage in an immense work load to fast track his development. Tim stating at the time that Tadej was doing more than double the races that he was capable of doing and there gaining a huge adaption to the work load.. more on this later. The story of the creation of the Ljubljana Gusto Xaurum HeadCrack Team will surprize you just how much our Tim Guy was involved. I haven’t said too much at this point, as some of you may be aware that Tim is currently being treated for his long term mental problems and it is important to keep a low profile as he recovers from a long hospital treatment. It is worth knowing that Tim is supposed to be racing in Slovenia at the moment, but Covid19 has almost made that impossible. However as his Head Crack company promotes it is amazing what you can achieve while suffering with a debilitating Mental Sickness, You can even help a young cyclist win the Tour de France.. Stay Tuned for more of this story.. Attached is a Photo of Tim with Tadej Pogacar at the Tour of Slovenia, and also a photo of Tadaj with the Head Crack sponsorship featured.. See more

08.01.2022 TAKING ON THE ROCKLEY CUP CHALLENGE: The Rockley Cup’s reputation is built around the race being the most difficult and challenging event on the Bathurst Club Calendar, so clearly the majority of entrants in the race firstly have the goal to simply finish the clubs toughest event. With an extra few kilometres at the start of the 2020 Rockley Cup it was considered as the toughest course of the last 51years, adding more kudos to those that finished the 2020 Renshaw's Pedal P...roject Rockley Cup. Many involved in the weekends event were aware of Fran Walker's quest to enter and complete the Rockley Cup, with her family having close connection to the Iconic Bathurst Event. Her Brother (a NSW Representative) won the race back in 1987, while her Mum (who also doesn’t mind taking on a challenge) was part of the race administration team for a period in the mid 1980’s. Fran’s goal was solely to complete the course.. so the wind and heat on the day certainly created plenty of anxiety about her participation in the 2020 Renshaw Pedal Project Rockley Cup. She was somewhat relieved when talking to her co marker Greg Vinall to find he was also hoping just to finish the legendary Rockley Cup, and tic it off the bucket list. Now no Bathurst Female rider has ever won the Rockley Cup, so in 2013 Garry and Paula Taunton donated a trophy for the first female in the race each year, which has become very sort after. So given Hollee Simons, Ebony Robinson and Fran where battling it out for the trophy it was impressive to see Hollee (& Nic) at the end of the race ride back down the hill to encourage Fran to the finish line. It was also very noticeable the encouragement by a number of the other female riders and supporters at the finish linee.. These Photos show it is a real achievement to ride the Rockley Race and all starters should be congratulated for taking on the challenge.. PS.. Yep Greg Vinall also finished the 2020 Renshaw Pedal Project Rockley Cup, in fact, Fran and Greg looked to be in eye shot of each other for the entire race.. and I have to say it looked to be quite a battle between the pair.. Big Congratulation to all involved in the 2020 Renshaw's Pedal Project Rockley Cup.. Great Achievement All.. See more

For the first time in 2020 the feature event (the Rockley Cup) was supported by two more races, the Little Rock and the Pebble Cup. The main race climbs Rockley Mount a very demanding 3 times, while the Little Rock climbs Rockley Mount twice and the Pebble Cup goes up the Mou...Continue reading

02.01.2022 ---How did Tim Guy create Tour de France Champion Tadej Pogacar's team in 2018??? --- Part of the Tim Guy Interview..... Local Orange cyclist Tim Guy has been associated with Slovenia cycling for some time now through his Team Director Tomaz Poljanec who was the former road commission president for Slovenia. Tim being a former member of the Bathurst Cycling Club was keen to link his Australia Home to the local Ljubljana cycling officials in 2017 when a former club mate Mark ...Renshaw ( Renshaw's Pedal Project ) finished on the podium in a stage of the Tour of Slovenia in the Countries Capital. At that time 18year old Tadej Pogacar was racing the Tour of Slovenia for Club based team called ROG Ljubljana and amazingly finished top 5 overall behind Rafal Maika. The problem was the Ljubljana based team need to upgrade to the European Continental circuit to get Tadej Pogacar the higher level racing in 2018 to continue his incredible development through the sport. Enter Tim Guy & Ben Hill from NSW Australia.. attached is a segment of an interview from January 2018 when Tim worked with Officials to get Tadej Pogacar’s Team off the ground Click the link to play the interview .... https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-z3rmk-ec52cc See more
