16.01.2022 National Child Protection Week 6-12th September 2020 Under this years theme of Putting children first we invite all Australians to look at how they can prioritise children in their lives and communities and to engage in National Child Protection Week as individuals, and as part of families, organisations, communities and society. Putting children first means prioritising the safety and wellbeing of children. To grow up well children need to feel safe and loved, have a ch...ance to play and explore, have a say in decisions that affect them, and access to essential things like food, shelter and healthcare. For children to thrive we need to come together as a community and put childrens needs first during National Child Protection Week and every week. https://www.napcan.org.au/ncpw-theme/

09.01.2022 From birth through to early childhood, children use their senses to explore and try to make sense of the world around them. They do this by touching, tasting, smelling, seeing, moving and hearing." https://www.educationalplaycare.com//sensory-play-importa/ A big thankyou to Ashtons mum for sharing this photo of him exploring with kinetic sand.We love to see our BECIS children engaging in new activities.

09.01.2022 Even if you've never heard of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), you probably know someone with it. DLD is very common, and on average 2 children in every c...lass of 30 have the condition. DLD is when a person has difficulty talking and understanding spoken language. Spoken words and sentences are challenging for people with DLD. DLD impacts on learning, reading, writing, social relationships and wellbeing so it is especially important that teachers know about DLD. By knowing a bit more about DLD you can really have a huge impact on a child or young person's life. When you see a child or young person struggling, think about language, and think could it be DLD? #ThinkLanguage #ThinkDLD

08.01.2022 We have published two new reports that provide a comprehensive review of the current evidence about early intervention for children on the Autism spectrum. Inde...pendently compiled by some of Australia’s leading experts from the Autism CRC, this work summarises the latest theory and research evidence about which interventions are more likely to have a positive effect on which child and family outcomes. The information in this report will help parents and caregivers make informed decisions about how best to support their child’s learning and social participation.
