24.01.2022 Can you believe it's that time already? 2020 has been challenging in lots of ways, but the good news is the Lions Christmas cake is here to stay. Perfected over... the years, the traditional Lions Australia Christmas cake recipe is packed with high quality ingredients and 50% fruit but there’s one magic ingredient in this cake that sets it apart from the rest. The Lions Christmas Cake makes a difference. With all proceeds going back to Lions Clubs and initiatives across the country, the cakes help fund a range of vital projects in the community. We are also pleased to confirm we have found a new supplier following the closure of Top Taste bakery which has been producing the cakes for the past 35 years. Top Taste has produced their final bake of Lions Cakes for the 2020 season and from next year the Christmas cakes will be produced by Victorian-based Traditional Foods. 23.01.2022 Fantastic delivery of children's books arrived this week from Gladstone for the 123Read2Me project that the Lions Club of Bathurst are involved with . Managed to sort about 1/3 so far and these are ready to go out to schools, pre-schools, etc. as soon as possible. We will be doing a drop off for the moment. Thank you to all the wonderful people who helped to make this happen, the books are beautiful, so many brand-new or almost new ones which will bring a smile to a lots of young faces. Lion Jenny Ellis
22.01.2022 Lions Club of Bathurst are having a roaring great garage sale on Saturday and Sunday from 9am until 2pm both days. Here is a brief video of just a few of the things we have on offer. All this plus sausage sangers, bacon and egg sangers, cold drinks and more. All of this at 6 Short Street West Bathurst just near the new ambulance station.
20.01.2022 Earlier today, our Lions Club President, Merryl, took a trip out Raglan Public School. He was in a sense going back to school, but not as a student. Lion Merryl was there to visit to present the school with a donation of 32 calculators for the Stage 3 students to use! The donation of the calculators were presented to the two School Leaders and Ms Jo Cafe, Principal of Raglan Public School.... They were very well received and will be a great aid in the students learning and preparation for High School. Lion Merryl is shown presenting the donation to the two School Leaders and Ms. Cafe.
19.01.2022 We now have stickers on the books given away in the 123Read2me project. No doubt Lion Jenny will be looking for volunteers to help stick these on thousands of books.

11.01.2022 Lions Australia is pleased to have adopted Disaster Relief Australia as one of our key projects. Disaster Relief Australia (formerly known as Team Rubicon) brin...gs military veterans, emergency responders and motivated civilians together to volunteer their time to assist with emergency and disaster relief operations. This not only helps communities devastated by disasters, but it also helps Australian veterans find purpose through community service. Lions members are often the first to respond during times of crisis, as was seen in the 2019/2020 Black Summer bushfires. This partnership will be of significant benefit to both organisations - allowing veterans to get involved in more community projects, and assisting Lions clubs with more trained emergency responders in times of disaster. 10.01.2022 Were you driving past the flagpoles last Monday? If so, you may have noticed some work being conducted down there servicing four of the flagpoles that are managed by our club, one of which had some major repairs carried out on it. All up, the operation took about 5 hours. ... Thanks to our Lions Club members Gavin, John H, Paul and John M for getting this organised, and the workers who carried out the operation high up in the cherry picker!

01.01.2022 Last Saturday the 27th June, the 122nd Anniversary of Philippine Independence Day was celebrated with a Philippine Flag Raising ceremony to mark the day. The ceremony was attended by Paul Toole MP, Mayor Bobby Burke, Lions Gavan and Jenny Ellis, Paul Haysom, Bruce and Helen Mulligan and members of the Philippine community of Bathurst and Sydney. Thank you to all who attended!
