22.01.2022 This International Women's Day we would like to acknowledge the significant contribution made by all the strong women leaders within PCYC NSW, starting with Sylvia Mabyl Chase MBE (1876 - 1966). In 1937 Sylvia was asked to volunteer at our first club at Wooloomooloo. Sylvia became the librarian and according to historical records, she bought books to fill the library room and became a loved and trusted confidante to the boys during her 22-year association with the club. She w...as awarded an MBE for her work with PCYC and was appointed our first Life Governor. The original PCYC club is still in Woolloomooloo, across from Sylvia Chase Square. Friend of PCYC NSW, Toby is supporting our efforts to raise money for a new preventative Mental Wellness program to help young people build resilience skills. On a daily basis PCYC clubs around NSW see young people experiencing anxiety, depression and other mental health challenges. We need your help to make a difference. ... 02.01.2022 Leslie Buckley from Country Coffee dropped in this morning to donate $150 they raised through Return and Earn collections. Thanks to this donation, S/C Rikki Bowden will be able to upgrade some of the well worn appliances used in the Fit for Life Breakfast program. Each week 15 young people are picked up, put through their paces with some excercise and fed breakfast prior to dropping them to school. Thanks so much for the support Jane Issa and the team at Country Coffee!
