22.01.2022 Cameron talks us through golf screening. There are many factors which can affect your game including body position, joint and muscular flexibility, club selection, timing and force transfer within the swing, the angle of the club when it hits the ball, the speed of the swing etc. Many of these factors can be modified to improve the feel of your swing, and your ability to hit the ball where you are aiming. Our golf screening can help identify and correct factors within the musculoskeletal system which can affect the variables mentioned above. Want to find out more and how physiotherapy can help your golf playing? Please contact us on 6332 1955 if youd like to find out more or schedule and appointment with Cameron.

Equally important is the commencement of rehab as soon as possible to improve strength and mobility. Physios Dr Selina Parry, Assoc Prof Catherine Granger and Prof Linda Denehy note that the human contact a physiotherapist brings to a recovering patient - even just talking with them when they do their exercises - is crucial in helping patients recover and heal during one of the toughest times of their lives.

18.01.2022 Ready to get back to the gym post-iso? Be sure to follow these tips from physios around Australia to make your return without injury as smooth as possible. Warm-up and cool-down properly using stretching, foam-rolling and icing techniques to aid in your recovery. Drop your pre-iso weight by 20-30% and gradually increase the weight over four-eight weeks depending on your age and fitness level. Get your form checked by a professional and ensure you are controlled and slow... in your repetitions. Dont go too hard, too early! Build up to your pre-iso levels as your muscles and tendons will have likely shrunk, making you more susceptible to injury. Check in with your local physio to avoid injury and manage your return to full capacity. See more

07.01.2022 Great post by @theconsciousphysio: "What really is acceptance? Its a term thrown around a lot but how do we really know if someone has reached that acceptance stage? Well there may be several clues they give in terms of their outlook and attempt to move forward. One thing for sure is acceptance doesnt mean someone will always be positive and happy , there may still be frustration and anger at their situation but often this will not last long as they will have/find a way to manage this and the individual will keep moving forward and focusing on what they can control. The person will also have a greater understanding of themselves (strengths and weaknesses). Eventually the person may not be emotionally bothered at all but remember acceptance is a JOURNEY".

03.01.2022 The benefits of mindfulness are plentiful, as Pain Physiotherapist Marelle Wilson explains: Mindfulness helps to build the capacity to be aware of both pleasant and unpleasant and with time, to be able to stay with difficulty without turning to our automatic reactions and habits to get rid of uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. When it comes to pain, we know that pain related distress and fear can further activate the stress response, which in turn can further increase the ...pain experience. Learning Mindfulness can improve mental and physical wellbeing, emotional regulation and can be a really important skill to include as part of a chronic pain management programme. Its not complicated and almost anyone can learn mindfulness with the right training but that doesnt mean its the right thing for everyone. A well-trained teacher can help determine if Mindfulness training would be helpful for you. For more information about mindfulness, please go to https://moveforbetterhealth.com.au/treatment-o/meditation/
