24.01.2022 Today we were given a beautiful gift of kindness; has absolutely touched our hearts! Stay tuned to hear what it was.
24.01.2022 Australian Primary Principals Day 2020 We know how fortunate we are to have Kate White as the principal of our school. However, our appreciation for her reached new heights this year. During our move to students working from home, she provided us with a clear vision of how we could maintain student learning, whilst developing a strong support network around our families. This ensured we were all working together. ... Her strength and leadership inspires us everyday. To us she is extraordinary. #LuckyUs #ThankyouFromUsAll #LoveWhereYouLearn
24.01.2022 "Learn as much as you can about the culture and participate." - Aunty Deanna. Each year, NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, who are part of some of the oldest continuing cultures on the planet. #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe #NAIDOC2020 *Posted by the NSW Department of Education*

23.01.2022 MY COMMUNITY PROJECT LOOKING GOOD AT BATHURST PUBLIC SCHOOL STAFF and students at Bathurst Public School are already making use of a special green space that ...has been created thanks to the NSW Government’s My Community Project program of $198,172. Bathurst Public School is creating an interactive and educational garden that engages students and community through an app. This will then capture school curriculum subjects and teach students about the natural environment, sustainability and cultural heritage. The garden will be a comfortable green space to relax and recreate, with a central yarning space used as a meeting spot and outdoor classroom. The transformation of what was pretty much a bare patch of dirt under some mature trees has been incredible. There’s artificial lawn which looks like the real thing and best of all, the kids love what has been created out of virtually nothing. All that needs to be finalised is the Augmented Reality app and when the weather warms up the area will be planted with a variety of drought-hardy plants and reeds. It looks great now, so I can’t wait to see it once spring is here. Skillset’s Land Crew has project managed the works.

04.01.2022 GIFT OF KINDNESS Yesterday our Kindergarten students went home with a special scarf. This scarf was a gift to the children from the residents at Opal Aged Care. Bathurst Public School first visited Opal Aged Care, two years ago after picking posies in the park. From then we have developed a relationship with the centre. The residents have enjoyed watching our circus groups and listening to our infant’s music program, drumming group and primary choir. With each visit, we... have seen the joy the residents also brought to our students, and from then we made a commitment to continue a close relationship with the centre. This year, however, we have not been able to visit, but needed the residents to know we were thinking of them and cared about how they were feeling. We knew Easter would be a difficult time for everyone, so we made a video of students sharing their favourite Easter memories and hoped this would bring back happy memories for the residents. We made cards and delivered chocolates to the front door, hoping it would help to make their Easter bright. Imagine our surprise when an Opal Aged Care worker arrived at our school yesterday with a gift of fifty hand knitted scarves for our kindergarten students. Each scarf made especially for us by the residents and some of their families. To say we were touched is an understatement. This has reminded us that a gesture so small can mean so much. I hope this inspires us all to be kind.
