16.01.2022 WHEN YOU NEED MORE THAN A MATE The distress being felt across our community right now is natural. 2020 has presented challenges that have changed lives and plac...ed added pressure on people and communities. Much strength and good will has come from the days and nights we have faced together but a great deal of healing and renewal is underway. Some people will need help at different times during the months ahead, that’s normal and to be expected. Friends, family and community contacts can be the best support. Adding to that are a host of mental well-being services you can access. Your local doctor is a good place to start and can develop a Mental Health Treatment Plan through Medicare, linking you to mental health clinicians and services. Online and telephone counselling and information services are also available: Lifeline - www.lifeline.org.au/get-help/topics/bushfire-recovery or 131114 Beyond Blue - www.beyondblue.org.au or 1300 22 4635 Kids Helpline Official - www.kidshelpline.com.au or 1800 55 1800 MensLine Australia - https://mensline.org.au/phone-and-online-counselling/ or 1300 789 978 Murrumbidgee Local Health District Bushfire Recovery Counselling Service - [email protected], 0436 942 100 or 1800 800 944 If you’re concerned about your own or someone else’s mental health, you can call the NSW Mental Health Line 1800 011 511 for advice. If you or someone else is in immediate danger call 000 or go to your nearest hospital emergency department. #SVC #bushfirerecovery #communitywellbeing
