25.01.2022 A MESSAGE FROM THE BATS COMMITTEE Here at BATS, the health and safety of our cast, crew, and audience is of utmost importance. In light of the current COVID-19 situation, we have made the difficult decision to make changes to our 2020 season. The Witches will be postponed to April 2021. Our cast and production team are obviously devastated, but understand the need for this. Anyone who has booked tickets will be refunded. Please bear with us while these refunds are processed. ...If you haven't received your refund by 31st March, please email us at [email protected]. The Full Monty will be postponed to July 2021. We would like to thank everyone who has auditioned or was going to audition - the production team were eagerly awaiting getting stuck into the show. We would love to see you back when we reopen auditions next year. The Addams Family Young@Part will, at this stage, still proceed during the September 2020 School Holidays. We will, however, keep abreast of the situation and make a decision about this prior to auditions in June. At this point in time, our AGM will still be proceeding on 19th April 2020 at 5:30pm at The Factory. We will, however, update if this is changed. We would like to thank everyone, from our casts, crews and production teams, through to our audience members and wider BATS family for your understanding and support. This is a challenging time for the arts, however we can't wait to see the extended performing arts family rise to new strengths as we move forward. 23.01.2022 At this exact time, our production of The Witches should have been opening the curtain to start the first show. Unfortunately this wasn't meant to be and it has instead been postponed until 2021. However, even in the face of adversity, we can still see a light shining. In theatres, there is something know as a ghost light. This is a single light left on in the middle of the stage when no one is in the venue. Originally created so that theatre ghosts could have some light for their performances, this now serves as a safety tool for anyone navigating the theatre after all the other lights have been turned off. In this challenging time, it's important to remember that, even when everything is dark, all it takes is one single light to shine. Be that light to those around you. Stay safe and can't wait to see you all soon!

22.01.2022 Please note: The BATS Theatre Company AGM will still take place this Sunday (19th April) at 5:30pm. It will however, take place online using Zoom. Full information on how to watch/participate in the AGM will be published on www.batstheatre.org.au later this week. A reminder that nominations for all committee positions need to be sent to the secretary ([email protected]) by Saturday 18th April.

04.01.2022 WE NEED YOUR HELP! This Saturday from 9am - 4pm we're doing a massive clean out of The Belfry (our storage space - next to The Factory). We'd really love some help to carry stuff to the skip, pull things apart, and move things around. We'll provide lunch. Please note: for safety reasons, no one under the age of 18. Thanks.

02.01.2022 After much deliberation, the BATS Theatre Company Committee has made the difficult decision to postpone our production of The Addams Family Young@Part to September 2021. Due to the unknown nature of how the next 4 months will unfold, the decision was made in order to avoid having to make the decision to postpone after casting had happened and rehearsals had commenced. This does mean that, sadly, we won't be performing any shows this year. However we'd rather put the health and safety of our casts, production teams, and audiences first. We're now looking forward to 2021 and can't wait to see everyone once it's safe to do so.
