07.01.2022 The Blackwater Hotel is hosting a Battle of the Bands to Raise Money for our UGLY BARTENDER entrant on Saturday 1st September 2018. Each year our hotel has an entrant in this worthy cause. The UGLY BARTENDER raises funds for the Leukaemia Foundation. Every $80 raised by an U.G.L.Y. Bartender provides one nights accommodation in the Leukaemia Foundations accommodation centres close to treatment facilities for people with blood cancer. The average length of stay is four months (or 120 nights, costing the Leukaemia Foundation $9,600). Fundraising enables us to continue and grow this vital service, relieving people of a financial and emotional stress when they need it most.

06.01.2022 As most of you know the UGLY Bartender Battle of the Bands is not going ahead :( How ever the nights not a total wash We Will still have live music Rides for the kids raffles and more stay tuned

01.01.2022 The competition is open to any style of music. The competition is open to any size amateur band or singing group. The competition will be split into 2 categories. The first category is Over 18s/mixed with the main prize being a paid residency. The paid residency is 2 gigs per month for 2 months for $400 each plus a $100 bar tab at each gig... To be eligible for the the residency prize the winner must have a minimum of 4 hours of song repertoire. To be eligible for the the residency prize the winner must have a or be willing to obtain an ABN. The second category is Under 18s The Entrant will have 30 minutes to set up, play their song set and pack up with a minimum of 2 songs. No Explicit Lyrics No Nudity Any entrants with explicit themes are required to note such on the entry form to allow organisers to schedule their performance for a later more age appropriate timing. Under 18s must be off the premises by 10pm. Discounted Accommodation can be provided for competitors from out of town.
