22.01.2022 What a wonderful year it has been, we still dont have a date for Black Sheep unfortunately with restrictions as they are we will probably be looking a needing a full roll back before we can safely/legally host So we have been discussing how 2021 will look for BFSA. Black sheep will go ahead as planned as an open 24 hour even but it will be the last open 24 hour we host. ... A second open day will follow in early 2021 but this will be a single day event these will continue to be hosted annually From there BFSA will host members only 24 hour or longer events with more gear for members to play with. The cost of membership is still being discussed and will include several benefits for dedicated players of the genre.

21.01.2022 Hi folks! In with an Operation Black Sheep Update As you may have noticed things have begun to stir again here with BFSA we have been busy during the outbreak. At the moment we are waiting for clearance to go ahead with Black Sheep at this time tickets are open for the Alestainian Army. ... Once we have clearance with will set a revised date and this time hopefully we will kick off without a hitch!

21.01.2022 So weve been getting lots of questions from people about a date for Operation Taurus. At this time and with the uncertainty being caused by the South Australian government meddling with the industry, BFSA has decided to delay until such time as we know just what is going on. BFSAs 24 hour events are big games as many of you know and take a considerable amount of time in planning & field preparation not to mention giving enough time for ticketing and organising the faction...s the soonest we could turn Taurus out would be January/February with the governments decision due in December we dont want to risk taking or spending money on something that may or may not still exist least of all we dont want to be in a position where we need to rush to beat any changes and provide you with a game that is not up to our standards. Sad news I know definitely something to remember in the polling booth. - BFSA admin

18.01.2022 Operation Black Sheep is done and dusted! It was a cold wet and generally miserable environment but the players of the three factions toughed it out and fought a well contested game. The Alestainian Army emerged the victors with 660 points after a good run on the scenario encounters & significant redistribution of militia assets ... The Federation closely behind in a surprise last minute bout of sneak thievery ending on 630 points The Militia brought up the rear with 310 points after making significant gains during the night and completing some scenario encounters

14.01.2022 Important info for Operation Black Sheep. This message will also be emailed out. Although Admin will have some water on hand, players should bring at least 6 litres per person, as it has been a dry winter in Swan reach, and water supplies are low. Miltia and Alestainian Army players are to present at the northern gate (1688 Sleeper Track, Swan Reach SA 5354) at no later than 0900 Saturday morning. Federation players are to present at 1000. Names will be checked at the gate - ...do not drive in if you are not in the correct faction (militia and AA players can still enter after 9:00, but may have to wait up to an hour to be briefed in). Latecomers after 10:30 are to drive in and park, then talk to Admin ASAP for their briefing and game entry. Process: - Park your car in the car park shown on the map. - Present to the Admin area shed (to the left of the homestead as you come down the drive), sign your waver and present your medical form. - Head into the shed (Militia and Federation), or opposite the car park (Alestainian Army) for your safety briefing and final intel about the situation and what your faction knows. - Grab your stuff from your car, bring to your briefing area for inspection (we want to make sure you will have a safe night, and that you aren't smuggling gels). You need to bring everything, as the car park is out of bounds during play. - Receive your starting ammo to carry to your MOB. - At Admin command, deploy towards your MOB with faction vehicles. - Game start will be at no later than 11:30, and will be announced via Admin radio. You are not to move within 50m of other faction players or cap points until game start.

13.01.2022 During the frosty hours of the morning "Helmet" and I went out for a skirmish to recapture lost CPs. "BEDFORD" was uncontested and an easy recapture. Moving onw...ard to "SAM SITE" through the mist we hear a NPC truck and go in for a closer look. Being so close to Federation MOB was risky but "Helmet" showed no fear and pushed forward and attempted to retrieve the intel from the Federation. 11.01.2022 Just a reminder seems COVID caused such a delay we are seeing lots of new faces with tickets. Operation Black Sheep is a 24 hour event There is no breaks and players sleep in the field in game ... You will need to bring sleeping gear shelter & food on top of your usual playing equipment. While we have limited charging facilities Id suggest packing extra batteries The August event date will mean its going to be cold at the field you will also need to pack cold weather and wet weather gear. 09.01.2022 Thought I better make a post after the abhorrent article written by Dixie Sulda in the advertiser in an attempt to divide the skirmish community by writing false articles about the paintball community praising the changes to gel. Dixie did the ring around yesterday to many prominent figures in the paintball community and kept ringing until she found a negative story to write. Paintball Park & Delta Force are obviously salty they didn’t see the potential for gel like their ...competitors did. As some of you may know Battlefield SA is the Gel Spin off of the Southern Legion paintball team owned by Ben Armitage who is a well known figure in the Australian paintball scene. Battlefield SA & Southern Legion do not support what has happened with gel we never will we had a great deal of fun (and stress ) hosting Operation Black Sheep for the Gelball community and had Operation Taurus in the planning stages. 08.01.2022 Well I thought I better post something about recent events. Much like everyone else we are extremely disappointed and angered by the behaviour of SAPOL & the South Australian government obviously Steven Marshall couldn’t give a damn about South Australians and their employment nor can he control his employees with SAPOL left unsupervised to destroy a booming SA employer.. We are unfortunately not exempt from this garbage and our Gelball side will have to be put on hold whil...e the legal battle goes ahead. While we do operate out of a registered field and we are appropriately licensed there isn’t much point if we can’t get enough players to host an event. This will not stop us from going ahead with the paintball side of our organisation where this all started and we currently deciding a date for our next paintball event the BFSA team is here to answer any paintball related questions or assist you in applying a firearms license.

06.01.2022 Commander of fed forces calling in artillery strike on a militant strong point. Fed recon units confirmed the grids and the strike killed 10 militants. 3 AA were also tragically killed in this strike.

06.01.2022 Update on Operation Black Sheep to answer some common questions: There will be a sausage sizzle Sunday morning, with Admin vehicles delivering the food to each MOB at around 9:00. Due to the quantity of food, it may not arrive at every MOB until 9:20. You cannot capture the food vehicles, sorry. Do not smuggle gels (dehydrated or grown) into the event. 02.01.2022 Just another little PSA about the roads to the black sheep field The roads leading to the field are rubble there has been very very little rain out there for a... long time now and the roads are extremely slippery with loose rock. Also the area is riddled with Kangaroos and admin have hit kangaroos going too and from the field before If you have a 4wd or something taller wed suggest pooling with those in your team who dont. If you dont have any choice but to put your lowered car down the roads pick your lines and take it easy. That goes for the 4WDs too take it easy or we will be fishing you out of the trees
