20.01.2022 We are very excited to welcome a new sponsor to our Event . Churches of Christ in Qld have kindly become the sponsor for the Corporate/Sporting Club Enticer Distance Tri at the Battle. We thank them very much for being part of our event. Churches of Christ Warrawee Retirement Village in St George is a very important organisation in a rural community. We understand they are putting a team together to challenge the other business and sporting clubs in the town. Lets get ready to Battle for that amazing shield.

18.01.2022 Reassuring everyone that under the current restrictions the Battle on the Balonne can go ahead . Much has changed over the last few days and things will continue to change no doubt, but if the Battle is ultimately cancelled by authorities everyone that has registered and does register will get a full refund ! We are so hoping it will be full steam ahead .

17.01.2022 This would have been the Battle weekend , but not to be . With so much uncertainty for the year ahead , the BATTLE will go ahead in March 2021 .. We look forward to seeing you all then . From all of us in the West , we wish you well , please stay safe and healthy and see you all at the end of this We will post the new date in March 2021 soon !

17.01.2022 Saturday at the Battle will see the up and coming stars of the triathlon get there swim bike and run on ! The Maranoa Mechanical Kids Tri will take place at 4pm Saturday 28th March. Time to register the kids now

Our friends at Atlas Multisport and the Sunshine Coast Marathon are great supporters of the Battle .. grab your running buddies, get the kids out , pick a distance and have a Run as part of this great event , you choose 2km, 5km ,10km , 21km , 42km . Get Running add another medal to your collection .

14.01.2022 Are you chasing the points as part of the Peartland Western Downs Tri Series.. The Battle is race 5 of this series and offers more point scoring possiblilties than the other events for the overall winner. Olympic distance will earn your 1.5 times the points value ... Sprint will be awarded same points as in previous events. See more

08.01.2022 With a very heavy heart, after speaking to local authorities we have decided to cancel the Battle on the Balonne that was due to be held on the weekend of the 28th and 29th of March. The commitee is currently hoping to find an alternate date in the latter half of the year, but if this is not possible we hope to see you all again in 2021. If you would like a refund of your entry fee please email us at [email protected]... We are very passionate about our event and community and need to put the health and welfare of commitee members, competitors and family and friends as our first priority. These a certianly challenging times for everybody and we wish everybody good health. Regards Luke

07.01.2022 Following the Covid 19 response from the COAG meeting on Friday 13th March by the Prime minister , the Battle on the Balonne does not meet the criteria for cancellations of public events and will go ahead . We will however be guided by the recommendations regarding this as they come to hand. Should things change we give 100% refund .

07.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has sent us messages via fb or privately we are very grateful for the love It was very tough cancelling our event and it’s all a bit surreal . Please know we will work towards an alternative date if it is possible otherwise March 2021 will be huge ! ... First we were faced with the challenge of a dry river due to the horrendous drought our community has endured , followed by the recent floods that came thru ,providing absolute joy and relief , we never thought this would be the reason for the event not going ahead . We hope to see you out this way again with more friends to experience how good a small rural town event can be . It has affected our club but more so the flow on effect for the businesses in town that would have shown you all some real country hospitality . We wish you all good health and keep training .
