25.01.2022 Sharing this sweet message from @littlewarmhug ( )* In this digital, instant, busy world, it’s easier to get distracted and overwhelmed than to slow down and find joy in little things. So if you’re reading this, please do yourself a favor by taking time to simply relax, observe, and list at least three reasons to smile today. Perhaps a new idea sparked in your head this morning, or you received a sweet notification from an unexpected friend.... Maybe you found a new fun playlist to dance to, or found nostalgic photographs while decluttering your drawers. You can write it down on your journal, or listing inside your head, or screenshot the template in my story! I just hope that more people know that it’s possible to find joy, to find something to be grateful for every day. it’s possible to find reasons to smile, my friend, even today. Practice this every day, and see how your life changes. Feel free to use my template and share it in your story, don’t forget to tag me! I’m looking forward to seeing your answers! Hope you have a magical day. See more

23.01.2022 A sweet drawing by @jangandfox just before the start of O-Week! It may feel strange to take part in only virtual activities this semester, but it will be fun time nonetheless! [Description: a drawing of three scenes depicting a fox holding a leaf umbrella over an elephant lying on the ground, the sky transitioning from day to night. In the third scene, with a starry night sky in the background, the fox says "I am here". ]

21.01.2022 Another sweet message from @littlewarmhug Just a tender reminder for you: Please use this post to take a moment and appreciate your growth, and know that each and everyone’s growth phase is different and unique. Look at you now. Look back and see how many mountains you’ve climbed, how many huge waves you’ve sailed, yet you survived and thrived through it all. Look at how much you’ve grown, my friend. Not just physically, but in the mind and heart. I’ll repeat again, pleaseee celebrate your victories, no matter how tiny they are. Let’s not neglect even the tiniest sprout of positivity that grows inside us. Your tiny little step forward really matters. Can’t wait to see this community grow more kindness and spread love around. Keep flourishing, and have a magical day!

19.01.2022 We recommend trying to follow @beyondblueofficial's valuable advice! Read it here Depending on where you live, you may be feeling unsettled as lockdown restrictions have either been reintroduced or may be on the horizon. #GettingThroughThisTogether offers tips and advice to ease the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak, while prompting us to seek professional support when we need it. Here are some practical tips for looking after your mental health and wellbeing during this tim...e: Take regular breaks keep moving. Our minds need rest and time to reboot to reduce anxiety and stress. Taking time each day to do something that allows your mind to relax is good for your mental health and wellbeing. Incorporating some form of physical activity into your day can improve your mental clarity and productivity. Switching your body on can help your mind switch off. Caring for yourself helps you care for others. If you’re a parent or carer, it's important to remember to look after your own wellbeing first. Prioritising good sleep and eating well, finding time to do something you enjoy, or connecting with friends and family are all types of self-care you can incorporate into your day to support your mental health and wellbeing. Choose me time over screen time. While it’s important to stay informed, it’s also important to take a break from the news cycle and social media. Try to limit or schedule your news and social media intake to a couple of times a day, as it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the volume of news confronting us. When looking for a news update, make sure it’s coming from a reputable source.

Your health is the most important thing and you are so close to finishing the semester [Image description: cursive text saying 'give yourself time' in a white cloud, with a reddish-pink background.]

17.01.2022 Sometimes its hard to actually decide what form of self-care you want to do, so making use of a self-care jar might help! This guide was made by @theself_carekit You pick a random one every day that you are required to do no matter what. It’s a great way to add some spontaneity and fun into your self-care routine. Because let’s face itself-care isn’t always fun and it’s hard to keep up a routine that actually lasts. ... Sometimes, it takes a lot of mental effort to keep choosing your own health and well-being over everything else. Having a self-care jar will ensure you never forget to take care of yourself every day. Making a self-care jar is super easy. All you need is a used jar, some strips of paper, a pen, some art materials if you’re feeling extra creativeand a mind full of self-care ideas. See more
16.01.2022 Sharing this informative post from @batyraus!! This week is Reconciliation Week. But what does this mean? #inthistogether National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. National Reconciliation Week is dedicated as a time for all Australians to consider the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres St...rait Islander people. @ReconciliationAus says that acknowledging the history of Indigenous Australia, pre- and post-colonisation, is essential to our reconciliation journey". #InThisTogether is more meaningful than ever, and we take this opportunity to reflect on the part we all play in our journey towards reconciliation. At batyr, we pay our continued respects to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as traditional owners of the land we live and work on. We’ve linked the documentary @inmyblooditruns in our bio, a movie that follows 10 year old Dujuan. When Dujuan cannot run nor fight alone, he faces the history that runs straight into him and realises that not only has he inherited the trauma and dispossession of his land, but also the resilience and resistance of many generations of his people. If this week brings up difficult feelings for you, please take care. You can reach out to a family member, friend or access one of these services: www.naccho.org.au www.sewbmh.org.au www.healthinfonet.ecu.edu.au and here are some of our favourite accounts where you can learn more. @reconciliationaus @tiddas4tiddas @marlee.silva @ausindigenousfashion

08.01.2022 Has anyone been listening to podcasts lately? A few weeks ago @beyondblueofficial launched a podcast series 'Not Alone', here is what they have to say about it! Hosted by @marcfennell, 'Not Alone' is a podcast where everyday Australians talk about their mental health journey to help you with yours. Released over six weeks, each episode will explore a real 'lived experience' story from a diverse range of Beyond Blue speakers. We hope that our listeners can learn, relate... to, and be inspired by these stories, and that the podcast supports many people through their own mental health journeys.
