14.01.2022 Quick update for the big barge. We did some ballast testing today. Using 1 tonne bags of sand placed at the stern, we achieved equal freeboard around the vessel without any list present. This will be done again after we install the crane on Thursday to verify weight distribution.... All of this is to achieve certification through AMSA survey. We also completed the front cavity decking in preparation for the Hydraulic power pack the crane will need to operate. You can see in the photo a pre installed exhaust port with U bend to prevent water ingress if the deck takes on a large wave over the bow. Check back at the end of the week for the crane install!
09.01.2022 We have launched a brand new work platform. A 9 tonne crane, hydraulics and power generator will be installed soon. If anyone is planning waterfront works on their properties then get in touch, we can start planning straight away. Sea walls, pontoons and marinas, landscaping you name it! Has anyone spotted this floating on the hacking?
05.01.2022 Before she starts work on your water front, we have a few final touches to do. Friday was spent oiling the stitch weld seams and building out one of our compartments ready for ballast and storage. Next step is the framing for the ballast itself, a water bladder, followed by a bench and shadow boards for tools - an onboard workshop has to be every barge operators dream. Finally we will carpet the area for easy cleaning and drying. We are thinking black, grey or classic dark b...lue marine carpet. What colour do you think should go down there? Bonus points if you can tell what part of the hacking we were in! We will keep you updated so you can see the progress. These final touches will be done very soon and we are starting to take bookings for September, call Jayson on 0419233156
02.01.2022 After heavy rainfall a landslide damaged this boat shed in Yowie Bay. We brought a small 800kg machine by water that is light enough to move around on the waterfront deck but powerful enough to do the heavy lifting. 3 days and 8 skip bins later we had the old shed and excess materials removed.
