19.01.2022 It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! There’s not long now! Our last rehearsal is this Friday 29th November! End of Year Concert... Where: St Joseph’s College in the Performing Arts Centre When: Sunday December 1 Arrive for Dress rehearsals: 1:00 Chamber Strings 1:30 Bossa Nova 2:00 Aurora Strings 2:20 Prelude Concert commences at 3pm Family and Friends most welcome. Cost $5 per adult Afternoon tea at 4:15pm. Please bring a plate of Christmas food to share remember please NO NUTS

13.01.2022 Hello BCS Family, With Term 3 beginning next week, we wanted to let you know that we are doing everything we can to get back to rehearsals as soon as possible. We wish we could give you better news, but for now, with the current spike in Covid-19 numbers, we are sitting back and watching what the numbers are doing and what other ensembles and schools are doing around the region.... We will be in touch very soon! Keep playing your instruments and entertaining your family!

11.01.2022 Hello BCS Family, It with the greatest regret that BCS has decided to cancel Fridays rehearsal and concert. We are unsure when Term 2 will start, but we’ll be in touch when it does. Please stay safe!

11.01.2022 Hi BCS Community, We are currently waiting to see what the schools are going to do with their ensembles for Term 4 and what St Joseph’s will require from us if we are to resume rehearsals. The logistics are quite tricky. Although we would all love to get back to rehearsals and making music again, we think it’s unlikely for Term 4. We’ll be in touch with any information as soon as we know.

10.01.2022 WE NEED YOUR HELP Dear Parents, As our numbers have continued to grow we are requiring more supervision in the yard at break times and more support with our canteen and management of Bay City Strings. We are requiring each family to assist us in yard supervision once a term for an hour. (5.00-5.30pm). We are also requiring parents of children in Aurora Strings and Prelude to assist with returning tables to where they were at the end of rehearsal. (Smaller children stru...ggle to lift tables and care for instruments). A roster will be drawn up and will commence in week 3 of this term on a trial basis. If you cannot make your allocated date please arrange a swap with another family and let us know at the Canteen Area so that we can safely cover theses duties. We are aware that families are busy and dates do not always suit. A blank roster will be available this week and next to allow you to enter your preferred date. The roster will be sent out with children in week 3. We thank you for your assistance in this matter. Please let us know if you have a Working With Children’s Certificate. See more

03.01.2022 Hello BCS Members, What an unexpected year it has been! A year full of challenges, loads of family time, home-schooling, your fur families living their best life, and it has all been taken on with enthusiasm, perseverance and grace. We hope you have been able to keep up with your music at home and used it as a relaxation tool to the challenges that have been put upon you. We know you are all eager to return to rehearsals so are we. We are really looking forward to seeing yo...ur happy smiling faces, getting the social scene back on track and challenging you with wonderful music once again. While we continue to wait for further directives from the government and permission from St Joseph’s College including information on how to implement safe Covid practices and logistics, we wanted you to know that you haven’t been forgotten. We are planning to return as soon as we are able to do so safely outdoors or indoors. Stay well and keep exploring your music until we are back together again. 02.01.2022 Term 4 at Bay City Strings commences this Friday 11th of October at St. Joseph College Geelong. We hope that everyone had a great break and are rested ready for our final term for 2019.
