05.01.2022 Good Afternoon Jeff, On behalf of Special Olympics Queensland Golf, please convey to your committee, members and staff our sincere appreciation for hosting the Special Olympics Redlands club 2020 golf tournament. It is very much valued the generosity, friendliness and inclusiveness that Bay Island Golf Club and its members offered to our athletes. This year’s annual Special Olympics Redland Club competition turned out to be a wonderful success, we had 20 players of varying de...grees of ability all supported by volunteers and families as well as the wonderful members of your golf club. This was our first experience of playing on your golf course and what a delightful experience it was for everyone. Please convey to your members our gratefulness for making this day such an outstanding success for everyone. Thank you once again for the club’s hospitality and generosity, and we look forward to returning to Bay Island Golf Club in 2021. Kind Regards, Kevin Borger OAM Golf Coordinator Special Olympics Queensland PH: 0404 362 147

Over 40 players, carers, family and friends came over to the club to watch and support the players for the day. While there are a couple of kids who attend these events, our island Kane being one of them, the field consists mainly of adult players. This is a social round with athletes coming from various clubs including Redlands, Logan, Brisbane, gold coast and possibly more. There are three main categories. 18 hole players, 9 hole players, and 9 hole alternate shot players. Members came along to support them for the day and even cheer them on as they teed off the first. If you ever want to witness self pride, and sportsmanship, these are the athletes to watch.

03.01.2022 Wednesday Golf Winners - 2 ball Stableford Medley event. Won by Bruce Kearney and James Allen with a great score of 76. Runners Up Ian Gilliard and Peter Turner on 74.
