06.01.2022 Booderee Botanic Gardens are the only Aboriginal-owned botanic gardens in Australia, and are a must-see during your visit to Booderee. We recommend planning to... spend between an hour and a full day at the Gardens, as there are so many areas to explore. Visit the Booderee Botanic Gardens to learn about bush tucker, the medicinal uses of plants, and the long association the Koori people have with the area and the plants of south-eastern Australia. Enjoy the peaceful setting of the gardens by relaxing on the grass lawns or using the picnic tables provided. It’s the perfect place to settle for a picnic lunch. At the Scribbly Lawn you’ll find electric barbecues and a sheltered picnic area for large groups or wet weather use. There are a number of beautiful walking trails through the botanic gardens, and it’s an excellent place to watch birds and other animals. Admission to the gardens is included in the entry fee for Booderee National Park.

05.01.2022 ~P O N T E~ pronounced Ponteeeeee: means ‘Bridge’ in a number of languages including Portugese (the native language spoken in Brazil). ... So when we were trying to brain storm a name for our new restaurant we had a number of key requirements on our list: 1) we wanted a short name that was easy to say, easy to remember and easy to spell 2) we wanted to pay respect to the old bridge that was soon to be closed but has served so much purpose to our beautiful town for so many years 3) we wanted our owner; Thiago to feel comfort in knowing that although he can’t see his family back home atm or for quite some time, his Brazilian Heritage still follows him to his new home of Nowra So the research continued on this beautiful Steel Truss Bridge that was built 137 + years ago. RTA Bridge # 713 Constructed: 1881 Designer: Charles Smith Length: 309 metres long and so after many ideas thrown around and a long list of names that slowly reduced in length..... Ponte Bar and Dining was born #pontemeaning #bridge #trussbridge #steel #iron #1881heritage #shoalhavenriver #ponte #bar #dining #nowra
