21.01.2022 What is health? More importantly what does health mean do you? Health is defined as "the state of being free of illness or injury."... I often have clients coming to me expecting my team and I to train them and send them on their way. Now in saying this, don't get me wrong we will train you. But we also look into your health. Because your health will always impact your ability to train and vise versa. How do you choose to look after your health, all aspects of your health? Read the list below and comment how many of them you practice regularly.... 1. Exercise regularly (30mins or more 4-5 times per week) 2. Eat a variety of colours of fruit and veg. 3. Consum 2-3 severs of fish per week. 4. Have regular check ups with your GP (minimum once per year). 5. Regularly catch up with friend or participate in a social activity. 6. Drink 2L or water per day. 7. Meditate or have a specific method to manage stress. 8. Sleep 7-8 hours per day. 9. Practice Self-care (weekly, if not daily) 10. 15.01.2022 How does exercise make you smile? For me, it's the challenge. I love finishing a workout and knowing that I pushed myself harder than the week before. But really it isn't just the challenge. It is knowing that I showed up and gave it my all. Not every workout will be about smashing your PB's. Sometimes we have to dial it back a bit to achieve our goals. Some days we aren't "in it" or we may be nursing a injury. But those are the days that I always leave with a smile. Because... 07.01.2022 Let's talk about exercise for kids. Last year I developed an exercise program for kids between the age of 7-12. Based around active play. My goal is to make exercise fun with the bi-product of health and wellbeing. Although I launched this program last year it was cut short by the covid lockdown. But now we are back better than ever! I don't know about you. But when I was growing up I played outside, rode my bike to my friends house just to have a chat. Unfortunately that is ...not the world kids are growing up in today. We have social media, online bullying and now covid to navigate. In a time when kids actually have to learn through a screen I want to give them the opportunity to really be kids and play. Acti-Kids is designed to encourage and educate through play based exercise. Sessions are not sport specific focusing on boosting confidence while improving; gross motor skills, hand eye coordination and balance. The term will kick off 02/02/2021 and will run every Tuesday at 4pm for 10 weeks. We do have limited places therefore it is essential to register your child to reserve their spot as soon as possible.
