24.01.2022 Tips for first home builders: Step 1 - Buying your block of land. So you’re ready to build, but first you need to buy your block. You might find a block of land that is dirt cheap and not comparable with the rest of the area, sometimes cheap is a bargain, but other times it’s because there’s restrictions or covenants that could increase the cost of your overall build. Follow these easy steps to save you both time and money. It’s 30 seconds of your time (you might just get back!)

24.01.2022 Morning light at our Venus Bay project. This home has been carefully planned to create a coastal vibe with natural and cost effective elements.
23.01.2022 Before kicking off a renovation always walk through each room and pick out which original features should be maintained. This original bathroom window not only allows natural light to flood in but it also provides the perfect intersection for the wall tiles. by @_shelleyprice
23.01.2022 Smart storage tucked away out of view from the living area When trying to reduce floor size (and overall budget) look for space saving ways so you can put that $$ to your stone bench top
21.01.2022 SWIPE LEFT for the ‘After’ shot. Sometimes all you need is a fresh coat of paint and some new sheers to brighten up a room. If you’re renovating on a budget, be smart about where you spend your money, and don’t over capitalise on costly fittings if you’re renovating for profit.

19.01.2022 We’ve been a little quiet over the Christmas break, but given we started back in the office I thought I’d share some photos taken of our Diane project. We handed this beauty over to our clients just prior to Christmas.
18.01.2022 An outdoor area made for Summer. If you’re designing a home on the coast, a common priority for clients is to have a functional outdoor area which can cater to the 4 season of Victorian weather. Always be mindful that to achieve light and bright internal rooms it often comes at the sacrifice of functional outdoor undercover areas. Ask your draftsman/designer how you can achieve both.
18.01.2022 Our coastal renovation and extension. The client worked with the architect to maintain the look and feel of the original home but with some enhancements along the way.
17.01.2022 While a significant expense for most homeowners, renovating your kitchen is also an investment that can last you for years to come and may even increase the overall value of your home. For starters, plan your kitchen accordingly. Take some time to consider your family's needs and your lifestyle. This will help ensure everyone can get the most out of the space. Ask yourself how often you cook, what appliances you would like to dedicate extra time (and money) investing in, and how much storage you consider essential. If a lack of storage has been a problem for you, look at places where storage can be expanded and maximized. All of these factors are ones to keep in mind when selecting new features and planning the overall design of your kitchen.

14.01.2022 Steel windows The #1 feature at our South Yarra Renovation.
13.01.2022 Choosing a front door can be time consuming and surprisingly expensive. To save money try to avoid anything custom, there’s plenty of mass produced statement doors that won’t break the budget.

08.01.2022 A renovation amongst the treetops. Pictured is our Inverloch renovation where the right hand side wing was built to look seamless alongside the original building on the left. The outdoor entertaining area was built to bring the two spaces cohesively together.
08.01.2022 Let’s talk black tap-ware. It’s popular for good reason; low cost, easy to maintain and of course timeless. Perfect for your first home if you’re looking for something with longevity, or if you’re looking for something bold to suit your modern decor.
08.01.2022 Timber windows framing the perfect hidden oasis at our Beach Ave project This self contained unit was an extension to the original property and the brief was to ensure the existing and new property sat seamlessly side by side.
07.01.2022 On the design files: The Gable Roof A personal favourite and one that continues to pop up on our clients mood boards. Can you see why? One way to make the most of a gabled roof is to add a gable shaped pane of glass and rake the ceilings inside. For extra points add faux rafters to add to the coastal barn look Image 1 & 5: @duobuilt Image 2: @threebirdsrenovations Image 3: @futureflip Image 4: @pandolfini_architects ... 03.01.2022 The en-suite at our Melaleuca Project as shot by @_shelleyprice for @poletti.custom.kitchens This is what happens when your wife has a vision for a vanity that’s way out of the budget so you’ve got to build something custom, we think it worked out better than the original inspiration.
02.01.2022 Melaleuca Mews Master views Walk in robe cabinetry by the legends at @poletti.custom.kitchens - definitely one of our favourite spots in the home, you never want to leave
01.01.2022 Morning light in Venus Bay. This home has been perfectly styled to suit its permanent fixtures. Make sure you think of the overall aesthetic rather than each individual element to avoid ending up with an inconsistent space.
01.01.2022 Tile selections Before purchasing you must, MUST get a real life sample, bring it home, test it in the room light, step back and look at it next to the paint colour, your other room selections and take note. If it’s a floor tile, wet your feet and walk on it, make sure it’s not too porous and you’re not constantly going to be cleaning it. Better yet, clean it with your regular products and make sure it scrubs up easily. It sounds ridiculous but your floor tiles cop a lot of foot traffic and functionality is key. Floor tiles featured in our South Yarra Project.
