24.01.2022 Just Arrived !!!! we have just received some 4cm Hoplarchus psittacus . Commonly known as the Real Parrot Cichlid , this fish is a majestic cichlid that inhabits flooded brush and forest regions, usually in blackwater.Juveniles have a unique " camouflage " pattern of green splotches and light coloured bands. They can be feed Spirulina flakes and frozen bloodworm. Photos below are of our actual stock.

21.01.2022 Looking for a fancy fighter ? We have some stunning Marble plakat fighters available as well as some beautiful half moons , super deltatails and elephant ear fighters.

15.01.2022 Just Arrived !!! We have some Vieja Argentea available , also known as the Silver Cichlid . These beautiful cichlids grow to around 30cm and are primarily herbivores. They like temperatures between 26 -30C. These fish can be aggressive and the male is the larger fish and develops a nuchal hump as he matures.

12.01.2022 Coming Soon !!! These beautiful little fish are called Clown Panchax and inhabit lowland swamps and slow moving streams of Southern Guinea and Sierra Leone. They grow to a maximum of 4cm and have a peaceful temperament which makes them ideal for a nano tank.

10.01.2022 How gorgeous are these guys!!! We have received a shipment of Scarlet Swamp male Guppies and they are stunning. These fish can also be called Painted Guppy and prefer hard and slightly brackish water. They are a peaceful fish and a shoaling species that should be kept in numbers of 8 or 10. They are omnivores and require algae along with live and frozen food such as bloodworm.

10.01.2022 Now available !!! Red Lizard Loach We have just had a shipment of these beautiful loaches arrive , they are native to Thailand and Cambodia and will grow to a maximum of 7.5cm , they prefer temperatures from 21 - 26 degrees.

09.01.2022 We are looking for our first new home as a couple and will be starting a large family immediately. This is a beautiful pair of 9cm discus tht have paired up and are laying eggs . Mom is a lovely snakeskin and Dad is also a bit of a looker with some peppering . 09.01.2022 The Axolotl (or "Walking Fish") are very popular pets for an unheated aquarium or large bowl. They mainly feed by smell as they have poorly developed eyesight, earthworms being one of their favourite foods. If kept with fish, ensure the fish do not bite the axolotls gills, and alternately, not be small enough for the axolotl to eat them. The Axolotl is a neotenic amphibian: unlike related species they do not metamorphose into a salamander, instead remaining/breeding in the "juvenile" stage. They can grow to about 20-25cm and are also able to regenerate damaged limbs and gills.

08.01.2022 Saratoga Leichardti just arrived!!!!!! Be quick they are selling fast> Australias two Saratoga species are both impressive looking fish, highly valued as display specimens. Larger fish are best kept on their own, ensure the aquarium is covered as they are expert jumpers. Prefers live foods such as small fish, yabbies and crickets. Aquarium stock of the leichardti Saratoga is mainly bred in aquaculture ponds prior to the onset of the wet season. In nature it commonly grows to 55cm.

07.01.2022 Back in stock !!! Borneo Suckers are a small, peaceful fish growing to a maximum size of about 6cm. Borneo suckers prefer a cooler water temperature, between 20 and 24o. Borneo suckers should be offered some vegetable matter.

07.01.2022 New stock just arrived. One of the most popular aquarium fish from Lake Malawi with its vivid yellow colour and black edged fins. A generally peaceful fish, ideal for a community aquarium of Malawi Cichlids. Grows to about 10-12cm (smaller in the wild). Both sexes are almost identical in colour, mature males have more pronounced black finnage. Use dry foods rich in natural carotenoids to bring out the fishs best colours.

06.01.2022 Introducing Myrtle who is our resident turtle here at Premier Pet / Bay Fish. . Myrtle is a Krefft turtle and hobbies include eating , basking in the sun and enjoying the company of all our staff members.

06.01.2022 As most would have probably heard by now , we have recently started selling some marine fish. This week we have sent out some beautiful blue spotted stingrays which we were all excited to see. These rays are about 10-15cm in size but can grow up to 46cm. They do require soft substrate such as sand which they like to bury themselves in and feed on inverterbrates and mollusks.

05.01.2022 Just arrived !!! Galaxy Rasboras also known as Danio Margaritatus or celestial pearl danio . This fish lives in small ponds created by seeping groundwater from small brooks and springs. They will thrive in a planted tank with soft and slightly alkaline water . Because of its small size and peaceful nature they do best in a peaceful community tank. They are omnivores , eating flake food , bloodworm , brine shrimp etc. They will make a fantastic addition to any community tank.
