Al...so acknowledging Trent Small from Absolute Building Supplies, the team at Bay Island Transport and Leigh from Apex. Karen Gilson ‘s colour choices look schmicko - despite my protests. Once complete, R18 thermal rated eco wall panels, R3.5 insulation and completely off grid power. Still a way to go! See more

07.01.2022 G'day .. My name's Michael, I'm 25 and staying with my family here on the Bay Islands, and studying for my Cert 3 in Carpentry 3 days per week. As an internatio...nal student at the moment, I have to pay around $11,000 per year in fees and I want to try to self fund my education costs. I study at Acacia Ridge every Wed/Thurs/Fri and have four days where I can work (I am allowed 20 hours per week) - Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues. I've worked in the past for many fellow islanders and have really enjoyed doing my very best in a range of roles - general labouring, assist on building sites, yardwork, assisting with concreting, and builder's assistant. I've been charging $20/hour and it would be really appreciated if any fellow islanders had work available on those four days, I guarantee that I will work the hardest I can to reliably complete these tasks. 03.01.2022 It’s been a fairly arduous journey at times, but the roof on Karen Gilson ‘s & my new EcoHouse on Lamb Island was 3/4 done today - the skillion roof on the fron...t deck and half the gable roof over the house completed - should be complete tomorrow. The first of many red wines on our new deck recorded for posterity, overlooking Moreton Bay.
