25.01.2022 For those of you wanting to donate to help wildlife, - Warriors 4Wildlife are supplying all Registered wildlife carers with food and medical supplies. Collection points are at Hallam and Hastings or you can donate on their website. Be wary of individuals asking for donations to privabank accounts. These people are wonderful and have helped us in the past .

23.01.2022 Great video by Daniel Bardey who came to visit the Bayles Fauna Park.

20.01.2022 THANK YOU to all those people who volunteered to give their time for the Park. I am pleased to say that we now have a group of volunteers that are coming on board. Don’t forget that we have monthly working bees if you want to come along and help with fencing, mowing, cleaning enclosures and weed removal. Everyone is welcome

19.01.2022 The 1st Lang Lang Joeys & Cubs enjoyed an evening walk around the park. What a wonderful group they were asking lots of questions and naming some of the Kangaroos.

18.01.2022 Can you help your local bandicoots? Deakin University needs residents of bandicoot areas to complete a 10-15-minute survey about the local population of Souther...n Brown Bandicoots. The Southern Brown Bandicoot is a native Australian mammal, that is currently under threat from urban development and predation from feral cats and foxes. We want to know if these bandicoots are using local backyards to move around and what features might be encouraging them to do so. We’d also like to find out about your experience of these bandicoots and how you feel about contributing to their conservation within the community. If this sounds like something you’d like to be involved with you can find the survey here: https://researchsurveys.deakin.edu.au///SV_b9HIPTni1LZu6Hz You can also contact me, Emily Reynolds [email protected], or my principal supervisor Dr Euan Ritchie [email protected], with any questions you may have. Thank you so much for your support!

16.01.2022 As part of the Nationwide response to the COVID-19 pandemic prohibiting non-essential travel and minimising person-to-person contact we have decided to postpone our monthly working bees / meetings until further notice. The park itself will also be closed to the public We look forward to continuing our work with our volunteers when safe to do so. We will contact you again when we approach this time. In the meantime, please continue to look after yourselves and others. Committee of Management

09.01.2022 The Bayles Fauna Reserve has now re-opened. As we had been closed since March 27th and have had no income for nearly 2 months please come and visit the park. You must still do social distancing while you are in the park. Our next working bee will be on Sunday 7th June at 9.00am. If you are interested in coming along send us a message to let us know. Thankyou, Committee of Management

08.01.2022 I haven't seen the kangaroos this relaxed for a while. They have been a bit timid due to people using the park to walk their dogs. It can often take weeks before they will come out of hiding. Please do not bring dogs into the park as even the smell of dogs upsets the animals. This group are enjoying the afternoon sun

08.01.2022 Some useful advice for anyone visiting the Park during the summer months

05.01.2022 The Bayles Fauna Park will be holding their Annual General Meeting on Monday 2nd September at 7.30pm at the Bayles Hall. New members welcome. If you wish to attend please RSVP to [email protected]

05.01.2022 Snakes have been seen to be active in the park already, so take care and don't stray from the paths.

04.01.2022 Thankyou to all the volunteers who came to the working bee at the park today. Everyone did a fantastic job.

03.01.2022 We have been receiving a lot of phone calls for the Bayles Wildlife Shelter. If you have an injured native animal or wanting to donate in regards to the bush fires please contact the Bayles Wildlife Shelter on 0425 832 648 or 5997 7594. Thank you Bayles Fauna Park

02.01.2022 Great news. Bandicoots have been spotted in the park once more. After a 12 month period of no sightings which coincided with a number of cats being sighted within the park, we now have a small population once again. Hopefully the cats are now being kept inside and our bandicoots will continue to thrive.

02.01.2022 Visiting early in the morning before the kangaroos go to bed is the best time to see them

02.01.2022 One of our favourite kangaroos Dennis getting some attention from Alistair our wonderful Vet. Not keen on injections, Dennis had to be skilfully darted by Alistair in order to sedate him successfully
