25.01.2022 Returning client Brett was back today for his first attempt at a Stripey. The fishing was a little slow at first, but he was soon on the board & it picked up from there. Another great day on the water. Enjoy the feed mate. Doesn’t get much better

25.01.2022 It’s been a couple of windy weekends down our way but we have managed to get a couple of fish when the weather has permitted. Plenty of gummies about with some nice flatties- salmon & 1 solitary snapper. Crays are also still around in good numbers.

24.01.2022 Just picked up some awesome new gear from Tackle World & Outdoors Burnie. Can’t wait to try out these bad boys. Thanks guys. It would be a great time for everyone to support a local business if possible. I’m sure a lot of them are struggling at the moment.

23.01.2022 The weather hasn’t been too kind to us over the past week with a lot of easterly wind & big swells. When we have managed to get out crays & flatties have still been abundant . The Bay fishing has slowed as well due to all the rain but the whiting & bream are still here. Tight lines. .

23.01.2022 It has been a strange few weeks that is for sure. Our youngest son has had to put his dreams on hold & move home from Queensland because like many others he has no job anymore & his footy has been put on hold. On a brighter note we can spend some family time together at Ansons & do some fishing within the new rules that are in place. The two of us had a great day on the water Monday & were able to share the catch with our local community. This always puts a smile on my dial & hopefully everyone else’s that received some freshly caught fish. Cheers guys & stay safe.

22.01.2022 Some awesome gummy action for Anna this morning. We already had our quota so this big boy was released to fight another day

22.01.2022 Awesome to spend some time with family & friends over the New Year. The crays have been in really good number & we have been bagging out regularly in the pots. Great to see this. It’s hopefully a sign that the new regulations are starting to work. Gummy’s & flathead have been in good numbers. Had a couple of snorkeling sessions with my sons & found some thumping crays in close. It was also a pleasure to host Neil Gray, Bob Conner & Harry Rigney for our Australia Day get together last night. This is the 12th year running that these guys have put on a free gig for our local community at Ansons Bay. Thanks very much men.

21.01.2022 Got out wide today for a couple of hours. The weather was awesome & the fishing not far behind. Had two newbies to the stripey game on board today & we managed to put them onto a few nice fish. Bit of a mixed bag of stripies- morwong - gurnard & a swordshark. I even got to try out my new outfit from Tackle World & Outdoors Burnie & it didn’t disappoint First fish was a 4.5kg stripey. Sweeeet. These things are great on light gear. Can’t wait to get out there with a new crew again tomorrow.

20.01.2022 What started off a ordinary day with the weather working against us, ended in great success with a wide range of quality table fish being hauled into the boat! From Gummy shark to beautiful sized flathead, Salmon and Jack Ass Morwong. A great way to end the day and the Easter long weekend! Happy Easter all!

19.01.2022 Had a good session on the flathead & gummies this morning. The guys had a play with a few salmon on the way in. Enjoy your fish boys.

18.01.2022 When Mondayitis hits just look forward to another weekend and say.... I don’t go fishing to escape my life, I go fishing to LIVE my life. What are you wanting to target this weekend? Drop a comment below.... #bayoffires #fishingadventures #fishingweekend #Ihatemondays

18.01.2022 I have been lucky to get my hands on some of the new rigs from OM Flasher Rigs and Tackle. We gave the new glow freaks a work out on an over night trip & they didn’t disappoint, out fishing our baited presentations 2 to 1. We had our best ever session on gummies, with 12 legal fish landed in 2 hours. They were red hot . Some top quality flathead also kept us busy. The scenery in NE Tassie has to be seen to be believed. Got to love this place

18.01.2022 Just a quick thanks to everyone for supporting us this year & we would like to wish you all a very happy & safe new year

15.01.2022 Top morning on the water with a few of the locals. Flatties were a bit slow but we got some other nice fish. Good feed of gummies - salmon & crays. The weather gods finally let us get on the water after some ordinary conditions lately.

14.01.2022 A quick vid of the gummy we landed a couple of days ago. Hooked this one an @omflasher.com We have been catching heaps of fish on these glow freak jigs. Awesome way to catch a

14.01.2022 Today we hosted 3 keen fishos from Hobart & to say the fishing was challenging would be an understatement. The boys had to contend with 30 to 35 knot off shore winds which greatly affected our options. To there credit they stuck with it & ended up with a nice feed of flathead- salmon & gernard. Cheers boys. Enjoy your fish

14.01.2022 Got out for a couple of hours this morning before the weather cut up. The fish where a little quiet, but we managed a nice feed in the end. Tight lines

13.01.2022 Thought we would have a crack for some crays this weekend before the season closes. Managed to get 4 yesterday & another ripper this morning in the pots. Also found a heap of feisty Australian salmon. These guys are great fun on light tackle & will come up a treat in a curry for tea. Tight lines & stay safe.

12.01.2022 Just received my new Tees & Hoodies from Salty South. Really happy with how they have turned out. I would highly recommend them if anybody needs some business or promotional merchandise. Thanks very much Anna Hayers.

06.01.2022 Great fun with the crew today on some big flathead- gernard & gummies. All the flathead were over 400mm & should be very tasty when the guys get them home. Enjoy

06.01.2022 We are having some of the best Crayfishing I’ve experienced in my life at the moment. The new quota system is working a treat & the numbers of fish being caught is fantastic. It’s great to see & hopefully continues into the future . Get on board

05.01.2022 A quick guide to skinning a gummy shark. Hopefully it helps you next time you manage to snag one of these quality eating fish

05.01.2022 What started as a trip out to find a few stripey trumpeter turned into tuna mania. There were blue fin tuna breaking the surface everywhere. Out came the spin sticks and then the sore backs and arms followed. We got them to 25kgs on 10kg braid. Great fun all round. Finished off the day in close with some nice flatties & 3 gummies. Also a few tailor & salmon.

03.01.2022 Had a hastily organised over night trip to the very scenic furneaux group last night. The target species( snapper) proved a little elusive but the flathead & gummies were in good numbers. We live in an awesome part of the world & are very lucky to be able to experience the wonders on NE Tassie

02.01.2022 Great day on the water yesterday. Had an early start for a crack at some of Tassies best eating fish- the stripey trumpeter. The conditions were unreal & the fish didn’t disappoint. Got some really nice fish up to 6.5 kgs. Anna managed her first stripey on the first drop & didn’t stop there, bagging out in the first 40 minutes. Great job. We tried out some new bottom & found fish on all of it , which was great to see. Couldn’t spend the first weekend out of ISO any other way. Tight lines.
