25.01.2022 A loving mother, a devoted wife, and a caring daughter and sister, Laboni is admired by all who know her, for her beautiful smile and benevolent heart. But alas, at the age of only 43 with two lovely daughters, Hridi (18) and Raya (9), her world has suddenly been shattered by an aggressive T-cell Prolymphocytic Leukemia (T-PLL). We have been advised that a course of Alemtuzumab will cost over 1.2 million AUD, with each dose of the drug costing a staggering $36000 AUD. This is... obviously a mammoth amount and virtually impossible for a middle-class family to afford. Laboni’s brother -Jaedi Sajib, who resides in Australia, himself has helped countless members of the community through his charitable endeavours for more than a decade. The defeat in Laboni’s eyes and anguish amongst her family have made us decide to step-up our efforts to do whatever we can to help her fight this battle and bring her smile back.
