19.01.2022 Now, whats everyone been sewing during the isolation ??? Send me pics please..... Ive been gunna make covers for the machine & overlocker for years & finally here they are. 13.01.2022 Just finished this Carpenters Star queen sized quilt top. EDIT I made this design up from 2 sources plus improvisation to achieve the final size that I wanted.... The Carpenters Star pattern came from Mary Johnson's pattern found on line. The border pattern is called Curling Ribbons that I found on the web site Quilt Blocks Galore in the Quilt Borders section. All of the following measurements are finished sizes so add 1/4" when cutting. The central panel is 48-1/2 square. I added a white border 1" on the sides & 2" top and bottom. Next I added the dark blue border that is 5" on the sides & 10" top & bottom. Then came the Curling Ribbon. I adjusted the given pattern size to make 6" blocks to match the block size of the Star. The dark blue - light blue - dark blue border is made up of 1-1/2" - 2" - 1-1/2" strips. The Ribbons and strips were then repeated. The finished size is about 109" per side before quilting and binding. The 3D look comes from alternating one dark & one light colour (plus the background colour) Thank you all for you kind comments.

05.01.2022 Thanks Frances for sharing this. The wording certainly appropriate for these times.

05.01.2022 How do you store your quilts? Frances advises Before I got my glass cabinet, mine were stored in a cupboard & rarely seen. After all the work lovingly put into my quilts, I decided to display them in this cabinet. Love that I now see them every day. Thanks for sharing Frances, looks great.

04.01.2022 Di Coakes & I made some scrub caps for frontline medical workers & Dis beautiful daughter Melissa kindly delivered them, together with donations shes been collecting, to four local hospitals. Thank you Melissa for helping us out.

04.01.2022 Mary is having lots of fun with her new embroidery machine. Nice work Mary.

03.01.2022 Di Coakes has been very busy while isolating. She got a SOS to replace a rag doll superhero that couldnt be found. That done, she then decided to make something for her granddaughter, just to keep the scales balanced. So she set about making a set of dolls clothes. What a great Granny you are Di! Well done - theyre so beautiful. (Lucky kids Im sure youll agree).

02.01.2022 Hi girls, Got this message from Alison today together with the pic below..... Heres a progress pic of the foundation piece I started at our last sewing meeting. Ive been pecking away at it 1 segment at a time....5 down & 7 to go & questioning my sanity all the while - such tiny pieces. Hope youre all keeping safe & well.... Ali. . Well Ali, were in awe.. can we see a pic of the finished thing? I presume its a flower & all will be revealed the further you go. Good luck with it girlfriend! See more
