19.01.2022 PROTEIN AT BREAKFAST I get so many questions asking about what I have for breakfast in the morning so here you go! This is my protein shake. I make it the night before and then it's ready to go in the morning. Protein powder, a banana or berries and peanut butter I eat the same thing almost every day, because 1) I love it, 2) it’s easy, and 3) it’s aligned with my goals. Ta-da! ... This meal packs 30 grams of protein that will keep me feeling full for my busy morning! I like to start my day with fresh fruit because it makes me feel great. Life is pretty busy in my house in the mornings so I try to set everything up for breakfast the night before! I like grab & go meals in the morning because they help me get a jump on the day. I try to meal prep once or twice a week, but I do make my shakes the night before. What did YOU have for breakfast this morning?! Share a photo and tag me on it! 11.01.2022 The hardest part of any fitness or health journey is taking the first step! It’s that lightbulb moment when enough is enough and you need to make a change. I remember my lightbulb moment very clearly. I had just had my third child and my weight had ballooned to over 110kg. I was trying to keep up with my other children, a 4 year old and 2 year old, but it was tough. They were active and wanted to run and play and I was finding it hard. I finally took that first step!!! ...I found a supportive group, I found my community, everyone had their own ‘why,’ but together we supported each other and worked together on our journeys. Every week got a little easier. I found myself in a routine, my nutrition improved and I loved training and I managed to lose over 30kg. Was it easy? No it wasn’t. But was it worth it? 100% Finding a group of women and men that were all on the same path was the key to my success. Having the support, the accountability, the friendships is what kept me going. This is what Bayside Health and Fitness stands for, a community, a family. A place for people to come together on their own journey but together on a similar path. We support each other, keep each other accountable and all work to a common goal. Find your community, find that place where you feel welcome. While you’re asleep your body is busy recovering and recharging from yesterday and setting you up for success today. Studies show that over the past decade, many of us have been going to bed later but still getting up at the same time losing about 40 minutes of sleep on workdays!... Not getting enough sleep can raise your stress hormones and also throw your hunger hormones out of whack! Both of these are implicated in weight gain over time. So if you’re struggling with getting enough sleep and can’t change the time you wake up, go to bed earlier to get those 40 minutes back! What’s your nightly average?
