22.01.2022 Manually picked a Gainsborough TriLock yesterday, surprised myself. :) Who said I wasnt sensitive?

22.01.2022 Well its been a while since I posted here, marketing has never been my strong suit. But its been one of those weeks. .. Wednesday ...I have a job booked in for an "Entry Notice " to a unit. I am to meet Police and property managers on site. I am very familiar with this tenant and have done many jobs for her over the years. I know she is a little eccentric and has some issues. ... 4 Police officers, 3 property managers and a locksmith surround the front door of the unit. "S" is inside and very agitated. She is about my age and has a history of causing trouble at this block of units, hence the entry notice to assess her state of mind, well in hindsight it may have been to insight a confrontation. S is wild eyed and yelling about bylaws codes and human rights. I see a hint of foil around Ss chest and know that is not a good sign. S wraps herself in foil to stop the rays from entering her body. What rays? Death rays, secret government spy rays, who knows? But its not a good sign. S says Locksmith Steve keep out stay away. She flings a window open and produces a spray bottle and squirts at me and the property manager. I cop it in the face and arms the girl to my right spins and runs but gets a decent squirt on her back. I smell chlorine and bleach and I am thankful for my glasses. The girls clothes have been ruined blue shirts permanently scarred with angry white bleach welts. I am pretty lucky....I suppose to get out unscathed. The Police receive a few squirts as they inform S that she has committed assault. But S is still on the inside yelling abuse. I try and compose myself and work out how we are going to get in. The cops send for an "Entry Kit" and I work out that I will have to drill 2 of the deadlocks and pick the second as it would be easy for S to relock each lock as I pick it. Dont think my hands have ever shook so much while picking locks. The entry kit arrives but I only have one lock to go. I pick it and swing the door open..... S is just sitting at her table waiting. The Police cuff her and she is taken away for evaluation. They ask me if I want to press charges. I decline, she has enough trouble in her life. I like to think that I am here to help. I prefer the quiet days. .....

17.01.2022 Life as a locksmith, is interesting at times. I was called by a lady to have a look at her locks, because she was getting phone calls that were disturbing her and she felt unsafe. So I popped in this afternoon and she said her locks were Ok, but she needed some keys cut. Not my usual role, but... So I cut her some and she kept on with the stories of her husband, the naval officer, her son the truckie, her time in Australia and overseas and how she could probably still be dri...ving at 85 but her family had..... basically she chatted and chatted and chatted. She said, "how much for the keys?", I said, "$10", she said, "thats not enough", I said, "I just live around the corner", she said, "oh dont be silly, it is worth more than that." I gave her some business cards, she opened up her wallet and popped them in, closed her wallet and said, "thank you so much, I feel so much safer dear." And tried to get started on another story, but..... I bid her good afternoon and turned away, jumped in my van and drove off. She didnt pay me, I didnt mind, she needed someone to talk to. Theres a lot of people that just need someone to talk to.

02.01.2022 Had to go out Sunday night and open a unit for a young bloke. It was belting down with rain. Driving home, turned into my street and there were three joggers, with flashing LED lights in the soles of their feet splashing their way down my street. Seriously.....

02.01.2022 Deadbolts still on special till the end of July $99 supplied & installed. But more importantly call me for a free quote, if you want your locks changed. Cut down the number of keys you carry and improve security and safety at the same time

02.01.2022 Locksmith life continues as normal.... Received a job to rekey a unit at 7:00pm last night. The tenant has young child and her property must be made secure. Come up with a plan to complete the job and then offer to take Janelle to dinner in Manly, something nice on Melbourne Cup day.... We arrive at the property and wait a few minutes for the tenant to arrive. She turns up in a too short black dress and no shoes, but with two bags that have keys hidden somewhere inside their depths. Tenant is a little stressed and eventually finds her keys and I start to change her locks. She is very grateful that I showed up and goes on to explain her boyfriend is "off his meds" and she has been to a number of Police stations to try and convince them she is in danger. He apparently has never felt better and has his family very worried and this young girl very scared. I quickly rekey locks, explain the importance of keeping her security doors key locked and bid the young lady goodnight. I return to the van, explain to Janelle what I did and what was going on at the property and say, "Are you ready to be wined and dined." She looks at me, "Wined and dined??" "Well Ive finished rescuing the damsel from her dangerous ex and fought my way back to my trusty steed and now we gallop off to dinner," I quip in a cavalier manner. "Rescue....fought....the only reason I am here is so you could throw me at some crazed maniac to slow him down so you could get away, if there was any trouble," offered my beloved. Hmmm...Janelle has never really enjoyed going on jobs with me.
