25.01.2022 Reminder about the delegates meeting tonight. See you all there.

24.01.2022 Getting set up for presentation night tonight.

20.01.2022 We're coming back! We'll be in touch this week with clubs about playing this season. Stay tuned.

20.01.2022 Thank you everyone for being patient during these times. The BFA Committee continue to meet (over Zoom) during this time and look at ways we can get you back on the park as quickly as possible. All community sports are limited by current advice from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and to some extent, each local council. Until restrictions are eased by DHHS we can’t run a season. However, there was some good news recently with some more restrictions being ea...sed on the number of people allowed to train (non-competitively). Clubs should be checking with your local council (or ground owner) on getting back to training. Players, please consult your club. We have spoken with our insurance company to ensure all clubs can return to training. Please note, as per almost all insurance, coronavirus is NOT covered. Rest assured, if we can get the go-ahead from all relevant authorities AND clubs want to play, WE WILL. At the moment we have pencilled in a possible start date for early to mid-July (still being subject to restrictions being eased). We understand that cash flow may be a problem for clubs so we are looking at ways we can reduce costs further through an initial one-off payment based on the number of players registered. The BFA may look to cover costs such as ref fees so there are no ongoing or further financial commitments each club will have over and above maintenance and services. We are looking into completely restructuring the leagues to reduce the distances you will need to travel. Days and hours that we play will also be discussed with clubs. Extra sanitising or clubrooms exclusions may be required but we will seek advice from the experts. Rest assured, Bayside FA are in a better position than a lot of other organisations due to our low overheads and ability to be flexible in what we offer. We will be in touch as soon as we have further information.

18.01.2022 That's right. Season will likely begin on the Sun 26 July (or Fri 24 July for those wanting to play on Friday night). We are finalising league structures, teams and fees. We'll be in touch by the end of the week with more information. Please note: PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER via the BFA website as we are redoing the registration form shortly.

Secretary - James Bretnall General committee - Martin Lord (referees coordinator), Marc Slac and Jack Hulse The committee have already started plans for next year. The committee is run by volunteers of the clubs that play it in the league. We thank them for their time and effort they put in every week. There are still places left on the general committee so you can get involved. Even if its just a little bit of time you could spare. It's a great fun and eye opening experience on how a league and an association is run. Please get in touch for more information. Thank you to all the clubs, teams, coaches, referees, players and volunteers for the great year and we look forward to making 2020 an even better year.

12.01.2022 As a community run Not For Profit organisation, the Bayside FA are committed to supporting football and helping those in need. That's why we are supporting the CFA and their bushfire appeal with a $3000 donation. If you want to support the CFA visit: https://www.communityenterprisefoundation.com.au//bushfir/ We were going to pledge $250 for every save that James Bretnall makes in the 2020 season but we didn't think $500 was enough :-)

12.01.2022 The 2019 Bayside Football Association AGM is being held Monday 14th October 8pm at the Seaford United Soccer Club. The AGM is your clubs opportunity to have a say in the running of this league. It gives you a platform to voice all feedback, ideas, issue and concerns. Delegate attendance is mandatory as No AGM = No BFA. ... Any non-attendance by any club at this years AGM will result in a $500 club fine (paid to a nominated charity). Ideally we would have four general committee members with the four executive members (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer). Two general committee members will look after advertising and discipline. We are happy to speak to anyone about these and other roles. Get involved and help run the league that you play in.

12.01.2022 In light of recent discussions of sporting hubs, Bayside FA would like to let everyone know that we are looking to purchase an Island that we can quarantine off from coronavirus. The facility will include multiple pitches, a pub and paintball setup. We polled our clubs who all agreed that families won't be invited. Discussions are also underway with our broadcast partners. #fakenews

10.01.2022 **Reminder about the AGM tonight**

10.01.2022 We can confirm that the Bayside FA Charity Day has been delayed until later in the year due to the recent Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak . We are determined to play it this year as it raises valuable money for some wonderful charities. We will continue to closely monitor the situation with the advice from the government health authorities as to what suitable action we can take to protect everyone involved. BFA will continue to provide updates to you all in relation to the planned start of the season on the 29th of March.

09.01.2022 With Coronavirus taking hold and impacting sporting events across the globe we are likely to reschedule charity day and we will seek expert opinion on the season progressing. While we all want to be out on field playing, your safety is our number one priority. At this stage we are still starting the season on the weekend of the 29 March but we will be in touch. No one should be put in a position where playing a game of football puts you in harms way of going home with a potentially fatal illness.

07.01.2022 Thank you for being patient during this ever-changing time. And thank you to all the delegates that have responded to our emails. A lot has been happening behind the scenes and we have been talking with many different people. We wanted to update you on a few things: ... Teams: We have had a couple teams pull out due to not having enough players or having concerns about coronavirus. If any more clubs/teams want to join, we can look at options for creating another Division or change the proposed structures. Season start date: At this stage, we are still heading for a league start date on the 26 July. This is still subject to any further DHHS advice. All players clubs should check out Sport and Recreation Victoria and DHHS websites for the most up to date health and safety requirements. Fees: We will be reducing fees to $380 per team (for insurance), $25 per a player and the $110 ref fee per home game will remain. Clubs will not be required to pay the team or club registration fee. No fees are payable until AFTER you kick a ball. Insurance will be due after the first round while player fees will be due towards the end of August. Once a player is registered you will not be able to deregister them. League options and structures: We have a couple options for league structures. See images attached. Please feed feedback to your club delegates as we will be organising a meeting with them soon. Important dates and timelines to note: * A 10-team league (playing each other once) is a 9-game season ends on 27 September * A 6-team league (playing each other twice) is a 10-game season ends on 4 October * An 8-team league (playing each other twice) is a 14-game season would mean finishing on 1 November. * With option 1, we are looking into a 7-team over 35's Division Two competition that plays each other once but has two or three extra rounds at the end so they can play 8/9 games for the season. * On 11 October we would like to run a round-robin cup/charity day * No games are scheduled for Father’s Day (can be used as a catchup round, if required) * We are confident we have enough clubs with grounds that are playable in September and the start of October to have a season that extends into October. Of course, if you have any questions, we are here to help.

02.01.2022 Thanks to all who turned up tonight and had a great night. Facebook will be updated with the winners tomorrow.
