25.01.2022 ? ' .... - ' . This is with his wife Jan and daughter Morgan. David has lived in Baysie since 1999 and joined the Baysie Rollers in 2017. In 2017 some friends invited him to an artisan market and pop-up bar at what used to be Howdy on King William Street. There he met the great people who organised the event & he was so inspired and engaged he immediately signed up to become a m...ember of... the Baysie Rollers. David's first involvement with the Baysie Rollers' was helping organise a live music quiz night, which David had experience in due to his love of music and work at RTRFM 92.1 since early 80's. He has also been in numerous bands, the most successful of which was the playing various music venues around Perth in the 80's and 90's. David became the Baysie Rollers President in late 2017 and has been driving community engagement through events ever since. He loves the sense of community that is sparked by fellow community members who all try to make a difference through arts, culture, engagement with people and local businesses. So far " ." When not devoting countless hours to the Baysie Rollers, David loves presenting and listening to radio shows on RTRFM 92.1. Once a month he is The fabulous Furry Freak presenting a show on Thursday nights where he delights and informs listeners with his musical knowledge (7pm-9pm if you want to check it out).

18.01.2022 This is and his fiance Bel. He’s a fun loving bloke who moved to Bayswater in 2015 to live amongst his friends and close to his work. He soon found that Baysie was full of like-minded community loving folk and even more new friends. Jimmy helps with the financial side of the Baysie Rollers and with many different facets of the organisation. Jimmy loves to travel for work and pleasure (or should that be used to) and enjoys bringing home local trinkets and delicacies from each place he visits.
17.01.2022 Huge thanks to the hardworking people from Town Team Movement for organising Community Convergence - Placemaking for Doers. Such a great event last Saturday. We will likely use the funds to help upskill our volunteers for our next event. (not exciting we know, but useful!)

15.01.2022 Last night we had our AGM in the lovely The Laneway Art Space (don't mind us, we're just claiming it as an extension of our HQ ) What a year it's been (and it's not even over yet). Some of our event plans obviously scuppered, we tried our best to rethink ideas and come up with alternatives. We were so proud to see how the #bayswatercommunity came together in times of difficulty and uncertainty. Memories made, connections built, friendships cemented due to shared experienc...es. We are proud to be part of such as close knit and supportive community. We are particularly proud of the involvement of everyone in our online verge garden competition. It was such a great way to connect and see what hard work people had been quietly putting into their little patch of the world. ' ' (Benjamin Franklin) Some events changed format, some were postponed and some have morphed into something completely different. We are hoping to bring these to the Bayswater community next year (circumstances permitting). Music Art Sustainability Business support events Thank you to all of your involvement & support and a huge thanks to our committee members, especially our fearless leader David and of course all our volunteers. We definitely couldn't have done it without you all. Looking forward to what we can achieve in 2021.

13.01.2022 Meet (aka ) Heather is our secretary and while technically lives in Maylands, still chooses to hang with us in Baysie! ... Heather has lived in the City of Bayswater with her two teenage sons for almost 6 years. She loves the vibe, especially being close to the city and the river, and hanging out at local venues and community events. As well as loving live music, she's a mad keen knitter and loves anything crafty wool She even hand-dyes her own yarn for herself, friends and fellow crafters!! She joined the Baysie Rollers as a way to connect with other locals, and has made some great friends in the process. She loves feeling like she's part of something bigger than herself, and getting involved with a great community that cares about each other.

09.01.2022 - Popular Vote- 49 Kenmure Avenue Sally's garden is so full of interesting things to look at and interact with, you might stand there long enough to make friends with her. ... Sally has lived in Bayswater with her family for about 10 years and got into gardening through her job. A geologist by trade she has an interest and understanding of how to turn 'Bayswater Sand' into fertile soil. Not only does her garden have planters with herbs that, once established are for anyone to pick, she also has a pebble pond for bees and lizards to drink from, a book library, community compost bin AND a trolley where people can donate and swap things. (I saw a toilet roll on there the other week- those things are still highly sought-after, right?) For Sally, getting into her garden every day not only gives her the chance to relax and unwind, it also connects her with her neighbours and provides her with things that generally cost more when bought at the shops. Her front yard is full of edibles and she loves trying to grow new and different things. If you live in the area, go a check out her garden, borrow a book, pick some herbs. It even has a spot for 'Ground Nesting Bees' to hide and hibernate in. Sally won $100 King Somm Wine Bar and Store voucher and $50 Drip Expresso Bar

08.01.2022 ' " " Meet and . They have both lived in Bayswater for 20 years. As well as being members, they are community artists, Gabi runs an event pyrotechnics company called WiznBang Fireworks, Alli is a visual merchandiser and web developer and together run the recent addition to the Bayswater Town Centre - The Laneway Art Space (phew- these ladies are ! ) ... They collaborate with us for art events and initially got involved in last year's . They facilitated student workshops for the lantern parade and made about 300 lanterns themselves (!) and have not looked back since. Covid saw these ladies get busy making an art space for workshops, classes and more. ' ?! (click the name above for link) When not making giant art projects like this incredible Venus fly trap, they both love playing music with friends and cooking up new art projects.
07.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who came by our stall at the Bayswater Growers' Market yesterday. We had such fun chatting to everyone. - We sold tickets to our Art Auction (next Sat 28th)... - We chatted to community members about our plans to add a garden to Bert Wright Park - We fed people and animals to the Venus Flytrap Thanks Cynthia for having us at the market. Thanks also to Sunday Club Coffee OMG Decadent Donuts Australia Crush Juice Van and Future Bayswater for fueling us up with delicious goodies!
07.01.2022 Hey look We made it into the Eastern Reporter Great to get a mention and a chance to show our community what some of us have been up recently (in print format no less!) Small but important clarification we'd like to highlight- The Laneway Art Space is a separate entity to the Baysie Rollers even though the artists are BR members.... The resident artists @GabrielleMazalevskis and @allisylvestre have invested their own time, effort and capital into the redevelopment of this space. The now Artspace was a disused carpark and storage area. Works between Laneway Artspace and the Baysie Rollers will be symbiotic and collaborative as we all aim to create vibrant, artistic community events which we are very excited about. Watch this space See more
06.01.2022 Looking forward to this event today hosted by the awesome do-ers at Town Team Movement. Learn, network, get inspired. PLUS- we get to hang out in Mt Lawley for a change There's things for the public to do too so if you're free- come on down
06.01.2022 - Best Overall Winner- 15 Cobden Street Welcome to Rhiannon & Johnny's little haven. They moved to Bayswater 5 years ago and are bringing up their little family here. They have a toddler, a super freshly made baby and a dog. ... Rhiannon is a horticulturalist by trade and decided to put her skills to use to replace their plain verge. What started out as a lawn with 2 native trees has been transformed into something unrecognisable. Inspired by her time living in the Kimberley, it now has layers, levels, depth, texture, functionality and is truly a beautiful space to sit and relax in. The bench was also added in memory of Johnny's grandmother and they will add a plaque later down the track. The garden was only finished about 3 weeks ago and the covid lock down prompted action and neighbour involvement. They bonded with their neighbours who helped whilst Rhiannon was heavily pregnant. Luckily, helpful neighbours and a hands-on Johnny completed most of the grunt-work. Now the space is beautiful and functional. They often see strangers sitting on the bench enjoying the view and the peace. Rhiannon & Johnny won $200 to spend at Miaflora Garden Centre and a $50 voucher for King Somm Wine Bar and Store
06.01.2022 We've been a bit quiet recently on Facebook but that's because we've been working hard on redecorating our Baysie Rollers HQ on King William Street. 03.01.2022 "' ?" mused Juliet on her balcony. ....well, lot's of things. Identity, a sense of self, connection to family. Where does name come from? The Bay City Rollers?... An association with the Bowls club? We're a roller hockey/ bowling team? (we're definitely not ) Our current members are not actually sure. We weren't members 5 years ago when the Baysie Rollers was first formed. The tag line around the logo however, we felt needed updating.....and yes, it's a small change but one we felt needed to happen to reflect the evolution of our purpose and identity. From " " to " ' ", our focus is on you. The Community! What you love about Baysie, how you live your life here and how we, in our small way can make it better through activation. We have a few events and activation activities in the works so .

03.01.2022 - Edible garden- 101 Whatley Crescent Vittoria’s verge garden is truly a work of love. ... Vittoria has been living in Bayswater for 57 years. Her husband, Otto, was the gardener in the family for most of that time, creating the first verge garden in Bayswater. When he became ill, Vittoria took over the garden to help keep him smiling. Otto passed in 2014, and the garden still thrives. A plaque erected by their neighbours in Otto’s honour reads: Extraordinary gardener, lover of animals and nature, a gentle, happy person. Otto with his wife Vittoria were the original verge gardeners of Bayswater. . Not only has Vittoria’s garden won the 'Best Edible Garden' in our COVID-19 Verge Garden Competition, it has also been honoured twice by the City of Bayswater. She grows garlic, silver beet, chicory, broccoli, fennel, basil, bay leaves, figs, pomegranates, mulberries, artichokes and so much more including popcorn! She spends time every day in her garden, and is happy to share her produce and gardening tips with anyone who comes to ask. Neighbours have even moved into the area to be close to her garden! Vittoria is a worthy winner of our Verge Garden Comp; she received a $100 voucher for Slab and Garden City, and a $50 voucher for Drip Expresso Bar for her efforts.
03.01.2022 ' " " Hi, I'm Michelle, this is my partner Christian and I am currently the treasurer for the Baysie Rollers. We only moved to Baysie about 10 months ago and we love the sense of community in Bayswater compared to other suburbs we've lived in. Around the time we were moving here I saw the Rollers were looking for a new treasurer so I thought it would be a great opportunity to get involved and meet some new friends. I am also the treasurer for the Pe...rth Manchester United supporters club. I enjoy volunteering as I think it's a great way to give a little something back to the community. Any intro about myself would not be complete without my boy getting a mention, this is Boycie, he's almost 2 years old and he likes treats, tennis balls and sneaking on the sofa when no one is looking

01.01.2022 It was so good to host last night’s ‘Kick On’ event in the newly decked out art space behind our office, in the Baysie town centre! Town Team members from The Morley Momentum, Future Bayswater and of course the @baysierollers gathered for networking and to share ideas for activation projects in our communities. Kylie from @townteammovement got the ball rolling, and encouraged us all to share our ideas. So keep an eye on these teams, because things will be happening all over... Bayswater! Thanks so much to the Laneway Arts Group: Gabi, Alli, Eve, Keith, Geraldine and Nghia. Cheers for all their work on transforming what was basically a garage into such an amazing and usable space! It looks fantastic! Thanks also to the City of Bayswater for sponsoring this event, and the The Bayswater Hotel for the tasty pizzas!
