25.01.2022 Bedford and Canterbury Road improvements due to be completed by August.

24.01.2022 A new life and one over. The Bayswater Primary School today received a new section to the school with the arrival of the modular pods. Delivered in the car park, the three pods were hoisted over the classrooms to their new position. The children will be surprised when they return. These pods were built off site. A great addition. Last week the former Bayswater CFA Station, built in 1976, was demolished. No longer needed as the Brigade now have their new Station. Situated on Knox Council land, this area will probably become car park.

12.01.2022 Thank you Steven Carroll. I should go and take a photo of the same view now. Bayswater has grown so quickly. At least that area isn’t all Units.

12.01.2022 When you’re next driving over the railway overpass on Mountain Highway, Bayswater, cast a look at the building corner of Railway Parade. This was built over 75 years ago by a very determined man who only had one arm. He even made his own bricks. Let’s hope the buildings of today are equally as good.

10.01.2022 Basketball in Bayswater. Thank you to Joy Ovington, nee Smith for sending me this press cutting from the Free Press dated 6th October, 1965. Some of the girls featured are also in the other photo showing them all battered and bruised. The press cutting shows the names but the names of the girls in the second photo are.. Left, Eileen Tallent, Pam Humphries, Maree Jeary, Valerie Kleinert, Carol Schultz, Pat Barry and Judy Tallent. ... Joy said she presumes Pam Humphries did not have the insignia on her uniform as she attended Ringwood High School and their sports uniform was plain green and she could wear the same dress. Joy played for Bayswater from about 1958 until 1968 and loved it. It was mentioned by someone the background would be at Kings Park, UFTG and the hill in the background looks over Kings Park towards the city. Willow Road is at the base of the hill.

10.01.2022 Thank you Kellie Millar. Great reading.

09.01.2022 Bayfield Road is so different these days. Thank you Kellie, love these newspaper cuttings.

06.01.2022 A planned slow burn was organized for the bushy scrub area below Bateman Street, Wantirna during March. This natural bush has always been an outlet for fires and a burn off is carried every year. Even though we have had a lot of rain since then, planned burns are always on the... agenda with the CFA. Other photos show Eastlink and the area toward the former Drive-in Theatre. Thank you to Dave Tangey for his aerial pictures. See more

04.01.2022 Thank you to Trent Carr who responded to my request for photographs. This is an interesting photo with the young boys and the background how it was in those years. The right of the photo shows the former tennis courts in the Marie Wallace Park and the other side of Mountain Highway, Bayswater, displays Sheen Panel.

03.01.2022 Commemorating Anzac Day, Saturday, 25th April, 2020. The photos featured are from an Anzac Day March in 1967 and I believe is on Forest Road, The Basin. This is 53 years ago. Note the brave serviceman marching in the middle of the photo, not ignoring the fact he only had one leg. I don’t believe The Basin has ever had their own RSL but these photos showing the ladies preparing morning tea in those big teapots (no teabags) may have been taken inside The Basin Progress Hall.... Note the ladies proudly wearing their loved ones medals. I do not have any names but they are outstanding photos to reminisce.
