12.01.2022 Many of you will have seen our sponsorship raffle on the Friday just gone, hosted by one of our young Shark's and her helper/father. We wanted to let you know that this is not the last raffle! This is also to say that we are still taking on new sponsors and each of them will be entered in to the draw to be picked out as a sponsor for a particular event, round or team. We really want to give back value to our sponsors that support us during this time and you can hear more abou...t how that works in the video from the raffle from last Friday - https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=612316626107475 Not only are we promoting them once drawn for a particular team, event etc. but we also have our Sponsorship Directory page set up which has been shared below. There are plenty of sponsors already in there and we really want as many of our members following the page as possible so these businesses can be front of mind when making a relevant purchase. In these times, supporting the sponsors that support us really helps us create a brilliant positive feedback loop to keep the club thriving so get on to the page and back the folks that back the Sharks. He worked his way up through the senior grades from 5th XI through to 1st XI over the space of a few seasons. Bens list of achievements at Bayswater Park are absolutely incredible. Highest EVER Senior Mens runscorer (5,217). 08.01.2022 2019/20 BPCC LIFE MEMBER INDUCTEE - IAN BARLOW Ians life membership induction was based on the below nomination: Ian came to our club some 31 years ago when his son Stuart was around 8 years old. Having moved into the area Ian, Judy, Stuart and Cameron wanted to be involved in local sporting activity. A decision that has benefited our club ever since.... Although hard to believe, Ian and Judy would come up to the club of a Saturday evening and have a drink. They were quiet and shy. Since that time, their family has become important and valued members of our club. Ian went onto the committee and became Secretary and later, Treasurer. During his time on the committee he, with Keith Smith, introduced Friday night junior awards presentations after the completion of each round. It was one of the most successful junior initiatives the club had seen for many years. As a senior player, he teamed up with Barry Cain to captain our fledgling 5th XI full of junior and young inexperienced players for quite a few years. He then played for many years in our veterans XI culminating in a premiership in 2004/05. Through those years he and Judy made many life time friends including the Trumps, the Mackenzies, the Baileys, the Murphys, the Gotchs and the Dodds to name a few. Ian was and is prepared to help in any way he can at the club with projects that included building of the storage shed, re-grassing of the wicket at Guy Turner, the early days of Cinema Under the Stars and junior coaching. He has always been front and centre when we held social functions, whether it be cooking a spit roast, a BBQ or cleaning up afterwards. Ian is always ready to give a hand. In more recent years, Ian has been heavily involved in our junior program as his two grandchildren started their cricketing careers at BPCC. Ian has jointly run the Milo / Woolies program (including organising with the weekly BBQ with wife Judy) with Robin Court for the past five years and in addition to this, took on the coaching role for one of our two Under 10 teams this season.

04.01.2022 IT’S HAPPENING! From Thursday, our club rooms will be open at last. We will be able to do what we all enjoy, catching up after training and a game for a drink or two. Like all other sporting clubs and businesses, there are some Covid protocols we need to follow, but the main thing is, we’re back.... At the moment, the bar will be run from the canteen window (outward facing). The rooms, including the bar/canteen, will be open on a Thursday night and Saturday after games. Bar service will also be available on game days but the rooms will be closed until matches have finished. We’re lucky to play cricket during the summer months when the sun is shining and encourage everyone to keep outdoors as much as possible, but if you want to head in doors, you’ll need to wear a mask at all times except when you’re sitting down at the designated tables to eat / drink. Masks also need to be worn when ordering from the bar / canteen. Density limits apply in the rooms (at both Guy Turner and Sasses) so please take note of the capacity signage that will be on display. Thanks for your support so far in getting the season up and going and we look forward to seeing our players and members in a more social setting from this Thursday.

02.01.2022 Welcome to the Varone & Kazar show! Between them, they have been involved in the highest partnership for 7 out of the 10 wickets in the last decade. This can't be too surprising given their quality though. Which was your favourite of these knocks?

01.01.2022 This is why we love our club! Great night last night for all that participated in our first online trivia night. We had a whopping 43 teams playing with 89 people, raised some funds for the club, got to see some well missed faces, had plenty of laughs and of course answered a few questions along the way. Congratulations to Mrs. Posh (Michele Lockie) & Maeghan dArgaville for taking the chocolates last night. As you can see below though, they actually got quite a bit more than... just chocolates! Thanks so much to MoneyQuest - Camberwell and to many other of our much loved Sharks for the donation to our major prize. A huge thanks as well to our special guests Jackson Taylor MP and Robert Williams for joining us as well and particularly to Robert for the beautiful donation of our door prize on the night. The biggest thanks of all though, is reserved for our supporters that joined in. Each one of you were invaluable in making the night a success, so thank you again and GO SHARKS!
